I give him a lot of respect for getting in there with Martinez almost immediately as the fight was legit and made sense. Nobody else with any name recognition is going to.
Freddy my disrespect for Jr. has nothing to do with race, in my post I stated how highly I think of his brother Omar. Most of my favorite fighters right now are Mexican or Mexican-American, hell 8 of my grandchildren are Half Mexican, for me race has nothing to do with it.
There's the fighter, and there's the person. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an AMAZING fighter, but a **** of a person. My dislike of Chavez Jr. is based on his personality and not his fighting skills.
You know what I wish? I wish half the JR fans that spend so much energy and time supporting him, gave half that passion to a guy like Salido, a champion truly worthy of Mexicos support yet who barely makes a blip on the radar it seems.
