This is an example of the bad shape of boxing nowadays. I cant think of a more exciting jr welter that Lucas, fighting a very live and skillful opponent on Ajose. Fans dont know who Lucas is, that simple, but they fill an arena to see Canelo blasting a Jr welter.Boxing is in trouble. ( this is not a Canelo hating thread, please)
A complete barnburner on paper and in reality, and only 377 tickets sold?!? Those promoters should have Ricky Hatton vs someone who wears gloves on their next undercard
That is a shame. Argentinos have three exciting fighters right now in Martinez, Mathysse, and Maidana. They need to step it up and start showing some support for these warriors. Hey Kid Cubano, is that pic in your Avy from the Rios press conference where Gamboa was a no show and where Abril crashed the party?
Didn't this fight get to headline because another fight fell through? What fight was that? That's probably the reason for low ticket sales. Honestly, no one besides hardcore fans know Lucas Matt and I never heard of the African until this fight,.
Exactly bro. Even if Robert isn't my favorite trainer the guy is pretty cool. And still waiting for gamboa to show up:good
yeah it was the alexander-bailey fight which now got rescheduled on the hbo card for 10/20 as a quadruple header
This fight was not really promoted at all. I had a chance to head out to Vegas that weekend and didn't even think of it.
changing face of boxing. no one cares about going to an event live when they can watch it on tv. been that way with shift to premium tv. move on.
