The assassin that was caught a few years back for the IRA would have killed Lenny with nothing but a fork and two pieces of glass.

Neither have anything to do with Ali's boxing.

Yeah but he fought guys like Roy Shaw and that Don "The Bull" Adams
fella. Guys on his level, Lenny was tough but as far as boxing goes he would get beaten by Harrison or Sprott.

Ali was not a street fighter, he is one of the best boxers of the century. Look how far streetfighters like Kimbo got once they fought at a decent level, yet he was knocking out everyone in the street for fun.

It's just a completely different game.

Is this how you rank boxers now? By how they do in street fights.

How well do you think lucas matthysse will do in a street fight against a
6'6 240 pound trained bodyguard with years of combat experience?

Not a ranking system. It's just that if lenny used his boxing vs ali and his boxing in a bare knuckle street fight, lenny's boxing would win.

Have you ever been in a boxing gym and watched some tough nut try his luck in sparring? Most get clowned and leave. I boxed for nearly seven year at 2 gyms and saw this 4 times. Guys who knocked people out in pubs or on the street and got completely embarrassed in the ring.

Okay, you caught my attention. Why would you think that? I was a boxer and I had had arguments with guys that think a street fighter would demolish a boxer. I was a street fighter too. You think Ali would not compete in a street fight like how he dismantled the big George Foreman? You said stand-up fist street fight? You answered the question; Ali all day. Way, way, way before you even pit Ali with McLean, you should pit him in with Foreman, Frazier, ....stop, put him in with Tommy Morrison first. Anyway, a street fighter or brawler only has a punchers chance and Ali could take a hell of a punch.

In the ring yes. But on the street with no rules? In a real life, skills whilst definitely useful, play second fiddle to pure insanity. The crazier, more mental guy would win. And McLean was bloody mental. Not to mention huge. Remember McLean would be biting, headbutting, and will probably pick up Ali and slam him head first into the pavementm and them stomp on his head afterwards. Ali was an amazing boxer, but as a street-fighter?? ****ing forget it. Now if it was Mike Tyson, or George Foreman, then yes, they would batter McLean in a street fight. But it's not them. It's Ali. No one ****ing dances and rope-a-dopes in a real fight. I'd wager that Ali barely ever got into a real scrap, or hit anyone with his bare knuckles. Obviously in a ring, Ali would embarass McLean.

why would a pro boxer risk his career in a bare knuckle fight?
