That was indeed a great one. I would nominate the Floyd Patterson knockout of Ingemar Johannson in their second fight. That right hand that Hearns laid on Duran also sticks out in my mind.
This is my favorite Ray Robinson knocking out iron chinned Gene Fullmer with a single left hook while moving backwards. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-EWPlSHxek[/ame]
:think I just saw this again yesterday and was about to bring it up to this thread a few mins ago. Apparently great minds think alike.
Marciano Walcott popped into my mind right away. One punch, and set up so perfect, plus after 12 hard rounds. Also heavyweight title changing hands adds to historical impact. Someone mentioned Robinson over Fullmer, that one was set up perfect, and belongs on list.
In Marciano-Walcott I, Marciano did a GREAT job of applying pressure to make Walcott back into the ropes, before landing that right.
The 'Perfect Punch' KO has to be the standard bearer of all KO's. From across the pond I always enjoyed Our (Sir) 'enry's KO of Joe Erskine in their third fight. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dleL-yqzmow[/ame] (Watch from 8' 55" too see the KO).

This may not be the best but it certainly is the most satisfying. This is the template to be used for every fighter to not showboat before the fight begins. I saw this one live on the Tuesday night fights when it took place and I can assure you, this showboating is edited way down. It went on for about 5 minutes. Walcott KO Charles [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0hZKnQ07IE[/ame] Hearns KO Duran (3:20) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv9kYwXFbMU[/ame] Jackson KO Graham (2:30) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpbVYeqgROw[/ame] Robinson KO Fulmer [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-EWPlSHxek[/ame] Marciano KO Walcott (And I think the most overlooked thing with this one is that Rocky feinted Walcott into it. He shook his hand a few times as if he were going to jab, half threw it so that Walcott would try to counter with the left and smashed Walcott with the right at that exact moment) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9msELiZKyU[/ame] Bob Foster KO Mike Quarry (Actual KO around 5:30, replay from better angle at 7:20) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yKBbavHCz4[/ame]
One of my favorite knockouts..I love this ko by Danny Lopez..so casual and so lethal,,you can speed it up to the end of the vid to see it, but the whole 2 rounds is worth the watch.. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKhlRPuoF1M[/ame]
