Craig McEwan & now Kris Carslaw added to November Prizefighter

Edinburgh’s Craig McEwan 21-2 (10) has got the call to take part in Prizefighter: The Light Middleweights III which takes place on November 3rd in London.

The 30-year-old middleweight has been struggling to get any real significant fights of late and this could well be the opportunity to put the Scot back in the mix for titles and worthwhile paydays.

Speaking to Live Fight, McEwan said: “I had thought about moving up but this sees me dropping down but it’s a great opportunity.”

“I’ve just been patient. To be honest I did think my career might be over but my manager; Billy Nelson had spoke with Eddie Hearn and asked if I wanted to be in it and of course I said yes. I've had a few fights fall through lately but this is great news for me and gives me massive exposure as well."

Further contestants in the traditional eight-man competition will be revealed over the coming weeks.

 

Big name, very good calibre.

 

Good luck to him, If he wins I'm sure Hearn will offer him a contract.

 

Was his only option at this point, was in talks to fight on the Matthew Hatton card but that fell through. Good news though, chance of a good payday and to get his foot back in the door. Tempted to travel down but it aint fecking cheap, especially since I washed my passport and have no other ID so Easyjet aint an option.

 

If he makes weight ok he should win it, presuming the rest of the line line up is typical prizefigher material and not some sort of murderers row. In fact Craig probably has the perfect style for this format.

He weighed 155 in his last fight so making weight should be ok

 

I HATE prizefighter, but cant complain this time as Craig needs a big break, & this format could break him back into the bigtime, but how sad that a talent like this has to fight on Prizefighter, where a dodgy round or two could result in an L on your record?

Boxing is a cruel ******* of a sport.

 

Prizefighter is ****, Hearn should just scrap it.

 

It's a necessary step for him I feel.

He's talented but has two bad KO losses and little name value in Britain unfortunately.

If he wins this it'll get him in a much stronger position.

 

Would love to see Selkirk in this.

 

I like it purely because it gives the undercard type fighters a chance at 32k and a bit of recognition. Shameful that McEwan had to go prizefighter for a fight though, true what was said above about 1 or 2 bad rounds costing someone an L. That said, I think Craig should smash it.

 

Don't need a passport for internal flights mate, any form of photo ID will do. Driving license, library card etc...
