    No problem,

Still much more impressive having an overall higher percentage of punches landed than just power punches.

Especially when your comparing two different styles of fighting

Do the numbers with the figures shown on the first page and Manny comes out ahead in any equation.

Also your first point is close to being stupid , it doenst take into account the number of actual punches thrown??? Then how can they come up with a punch accuracy percentage?

  3. Not really, when one fighter uses the jab as a scoring punch while the uses it to open up the guard, feints and blind the blind the opponent.

As well as comparing an southpaw to an orthodox fighter, as southpaws jabs normally cancel out with an orthodox jab.

  4. People often think Pacquiao is a swarmer, but no swarmer has that accuracy.

He a boxer puncher that just happens to throw a lot of punches.

    Styles makes Fights.

This fight would have been great if it was 3 years ago.

People celebrating these stats are crazy.

Get hit by the first punch of a five punch combo, tell me how many hit before you have your guard up.

Statistics do lie, they are twisted to say exactly what the person showing them wants to say.

Ask 10000 boxing fans who is better Pacquiao or Mayweather.

Lets pretend 25% say Pacquiao is better, however there is a selection of this where 42 out of 50 say Pac is better, therefore you can say 84% of boxing fans think Pacquiao is better than Mayweather. You can also say Pacquiao is more accurate than Mayweather as this guy is trying to do by removing jabs.

punching in bunches is more lethal than accurate punching, and the more punches thrown/landed will confuse the opponent. That made pacquiao get his W. Floyd's W was accurate punching while guarding up. But what purists see is the accuracy landed (Floyd's forte) than Pacquiao's accumulation of landed per thrown punches. Those who loves Floyd's skill as a boxer will get into Floyd's side, while those who want full action fight with great accuracy would lean to Packy. So, that means, it all depends on what a fightfan sees, not with the punch stat that we see on this thread.

    And numbers do lie sometimes.

    Pacquiao 1663/3513 = 47.34%
    Mayweather 931/2001 = 46.53%
So now that 1.3% difference is more like a .8% difference. But that doesn't mean **** because the compubox numbers that the TS is using are woefully inaccurate. Also, why in the **** should we completely ignore jabs? Because Pacquiao doesn't have much of one? :yep

Watch both of their ****ing fights closely and ignore the bull**** compubox stats. If you don't come to the conclusion that Mayweather is the more accurate puncher period then you're either a delusional fanboy or thick as pig ****, or both.
