    No.

He doesn't exactly do the 'nice guy' thing. He says what he's thinking, but doesn't get too personal. I find it refreshing, personally.

No, what for? So people can generalize even more how a successful young African American is supposed to act? No, anyways Ward is already quickly approaching his own greatness he proves it with his fists. Being a blabbermouth and then not back it up will make you look like an ass hat. Ward is already homing in on Floyd's spot

what you see is what you get on tv. i use to train at kings gym in oakland where he trains, and he's as nice as they come. that clean cut image is no front. we are talking about a guy who when he here's little kids cussing in the gym, he will scold them about their disrespectful language. but he's also the type that will greet everyone in the gym and even greet you before you greet him. takes time out to ask about your day. cleans up after himself in the gym like everyone else after using the equipment, changes in the same locker room as everyone. he even once offered to help a gym member with moving because he had bought a house. the gym member was basically a nobody like me. not a pro, or amateur standout, or someone in important in boxing business. just a working stiff who wanted to learn boxing and stay in shape.

The fact is more people paid $60 to watch Floyd fight Cotto than watched Ward-Dawson for free on HBO.

Ward is being true to himself and not giving us a false persona, like many of these guys that will talk crap just to generate hype. I appreciate his honesty.

That's true, I'm not comparing Ward to Floyd in ppv terms, no one comes close to Floyd today in that regard, but I think and most will agree it was his perfect match making fights with Oscar and Hatton that catapulted Floyd's popularity. Ward doesn't have an Oscar or Hatton to help his popularity plus Floyd's been around much longer.Ward's style wasn't very fan pleasing that's why his destruction of Dawson even a weight drained Dawson surprised many. Give it sometime I think Ward is still evolving if he keeps repeating the Dawson performance against future opponents to prove it was no fluke and if he can hurt bigger opponents aside from outboxing them you bet he'll have a ppv fanbase. I hope Ward will eventually fight in Vegas in the future a doubleheader with a popular fighter would help him alot too.

I think it would be beneficial for him to sell a fight. It worked for guys like Mayweather and Hopkins who don't have exciting face-first styles and if Ward is going to be the clear pound for pound king for years to come boxing may suffer from it and lose more casual fans to UFC. So in summary yes I do.

Nah. I prefer someone who speaks honestly and intelligently as Ward has in many interviews to yet another boxer where every word out of their mouth is bull**** that makes internet tough guys go "He a G!"

I think that's what I like best about Ward's personality. Yea he's a nice guy christian and all that. But he's definitely not a *****. It kind of remimnds me of old people talking about the days when guys could be tough without being disrespectful ass clowns.

That being said, I put much more stock in what he (or any fighter) does in the ring. All that other **** is just details.

No. I actually like Ward in large part because he DOESN'T talk smack (I was entertained with how he fought against Dawson, but didn't find his style very pleasing before then). I like how he seems articulate, knowledgeable, and well-spoken. I think he could make a fine commentator in the future if he gets out of the fight game with his faculties intact.
