How do you rate Pacquiao's chin since Lehlo Ledwaba in 2001?

Who said Mosely was in his prime? I merely pointed out the obvios, being that Mosely was absolutely shot when he fought Pacquiao.

You decided to take this as some kind of inference that he had been in his prime a year earlier, while obviously untrue, he was clearly in better condition /form then going into the Pac fight, where he was unaninmously declared shot and nobody wanted to watch it.

Also..Focus has nothing to do with your chin.

Well he didn't gas out after 2 round as he did with Floyd.

Mosley was probably in better shape against Pacquiao than he was when he faced Floyd with his 17 months out of the ring before hand.

 

Think you will find that was 17 months earlier against a weight drained Margarito, who got caught attempted to cheat and new that his career could be over.

 

What evidence is there to prove that Mosley was in better condition from the Mayweather fight to the Pacquiao fight.

He was far more active against Pacquiao, looked in better shape and didn't gas out after 2 round.

The ring rust was clear in the Mayweather fight.

he can take, and has taken big shots from bigger guys

when he does get hurt its usually because he is out of position and gets caught

i will say though he doesnt get hit flush a lot

in reality how many times did Cotto Hatton Margo Clottey Oscar really get their gloves on him

Marquez more than any fighter has hurt him the most with his shots, Manny ate those and always came back

 

He got hit in his chin and was buckled. He was off balance after he got buckled is what I'm saying. I'm referencing the punch at the end of round 5 in the 3rd Marquez fight.

You on about that straight right hand? If so, then that punch illustrates perfectly how rock-hard his chin is. The view doesn't give us a look at the reactions of his legs -- as it's a close-up shot -- but what it appears to do is knock his whole body back on to his heels. You see the force of the punch making his upper body fling back. If his legs were buckled like you claim, he would have shown more of a struggle to keep his balance. But his legs responded perfectly fine shuffling backwards to maintain balance, and immediately walk back at JMM.

It was a perfectly-timed counter that caught him by surprise and forced him back off balance, as opposed to hurting or stunning him.

 

Since Ledwaba, he's suffered a legit kd against Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov, and two highly debatable kd's against Barerra and Mosley (mainly due to being off balance while throwing his own shots). He's been jolted a couple of times (Margarito and JMM) and bothered by body shots every now and again (against Bradley and Cotto), but in general he's borne up pretty well when tagged.

So, his chin/punch resistance post Ledwaba is quite good. I wouldn't classify it as being "granite" but it's clearly not a glaring deficiency that opponents can take advantage in the manner that they could have prior to that fight. He's definitely learned how to absorb shots a bit better since that time.

 

Pretty good. Only EM and JMM have put a dent in him. Cotto's the strongest puncher he's faced, and he was literally runnin right into his shots without feelin it.
