Mayweather beats duran, chavez and whitaker at 147 harry greb is so overrated it hurts Mayweather beat castillo ward lost to gatti in the first fight Ali would stop Joe Louis in a 15 round fight after dominating him as long as it lasts Joe calzaghe would be very competitive with a prime rjj at 168 Hagler lost
The weight was an issue but more importantly Cotto had no trainer & Pac was roided to the eyeballs (not controversial)
On this forum, it's controversial. Here's one :hey Riddick Bowe was no-where near as good as he is made out to of been.
That's not a controversial opinion at all. Most people who aren't out to discredit Pacquiao think that the weight had little to do with Pacquiao's win (at that point in time, Pacquiao's style and physical attributes back in 2009 were simply all wrong for Cotto). I think the Cotto win is one of Pacquiao's best. The only thing you can really say about that fight is Cotto didn't have a good trainer for that fight. On topic, Golovkin is the only fighter at Middleweight with a shot at beating Sergio Martinez in the foreseeable future. Alvarez is the truth at 154, and will prove it once Golden Boy gives him a worthy opponent that doesn't fall through. DeMarco will give Broner an extremely tough fight (and maybe beat him) if Broner takes him lightly. Floyd Sr. training Ortiz actually would work out pretty well from a technical standpoint if Ortiz were actually coachable and wasn't a mentally fragile basket case.
WOW! You truly believe Canelo is no better than Chavez Jr? At first I thought he may be hype. But damn that 22 year old hits like a mother and throws some sweet ass combo's. My one (I hate Broner btw) Broner eases Demarco to a decision victory...
I dont know anyone who rates him Smashing prime Holy to bits > anything on LL's record Arguello would knock out Marquez btw & thats just common sense
I was very impressed with Martinez' movement and boxing ability in his last fight, but the guy will be 38 next year. His footwork and boxing ability are both very good technically, but his reflexes and actual foot speed will decline with age even if his skills remain sharp or even improve. He has the style of a younger man. Somehow, I think he'll slow down at some point in late 2013 or early 2014, and if Golvkin is in the ring with him when that happens, it probably won't end well for Martinez. That said, if Golovkin was in the ring with Martinez on the 15th, I think he would have lost a decision (nowhere near as badly as Jr. lost it though.)
If Cotto never met Plasterito, which ruined his career and also his prime. He would whoop both Paq and Mayweather. Gamboa would make Broner look like a choirboy a prime Morales would never loose to Paq
Still think Kirkland would give Canelo trouble, especially if he takes it to him and makes him fight out of his comfort zone. Nope. Controversial at the time, and probably even more controversial now. I don't agree. This was never going to be happen, really. Far too many flaws. Still hold this opinion? Nope.
1 or 2 have agreed with my opinion on this already, but it's still probably controversial. Cotto gives Martinez a better bout than Chavez Jr did. Possibly being very competitive.
Agree. He has the technical skills to do so. Chavez had size, but he was WAY out of his leauge when it came to class.
