Floyd won his first title at this weight but had yet to hit his prime yet. Meanwhile Lockridge's best years were arguably at this weight. Could 'Money' still prevail in this matchup, or would he suffer the same fate as Uncle Roger? (Roger was KO'd in 1 by Lockridge)

Do you think Floyd's power was as good as his uncle's as well? I too agree Floyd was better than Roger as well as his dad.

Floyd definitely outclasses Lockridge here. Rocky wouldn't be able to deal with the speed I think. MW by UD

I couldn't disagree more, mayweather was at his absolute best at super featherweight, he has never looked as good again since he left

Agreed Roger could bang, Rogers effectively called Floyd feather fisted, which I'd say is an exageration

I think Floyd was a decent puncher at 130.Could certainly hurt fighters with the accuracy of his shots there, far more than nowadays.

Roger was a legit right hand puncher though. He had big power.

I think Rocky gives Floyd the fight of his life, possibly upsetting him, but I give it to Floyd on MD.

Lockridge is probably a better fighter than Floyd has ever faced, at his very best at 130.

Floyd via close decision. Quicker, and can out general Lockridge IMO. But Rocky could do a bit of everything, he'd really make Floyd work hard and dig deep. Floyd might well knock him down at some point, so quick and accurate, but Laporte aside Rocky was reliable taking leather, so he'll go the distance.

If Lockridge managed to do enough to win, I wouldn't be massively shocked.

And yes, Roger hit harder for sheer force. He did a few things well that Floyd does well, the pull counter Floyd gets way too much praise for, and getting on his bike and stinking the place out.

at 130, i would be. i like your summation but floyd was really on point at this weight and i think he had what it took to take a clear, but hard fought decision. if rocky got to him, i'd be surprised

I wouldn't. He had a good variety of shots, was quick, hit hard, could box, could pressure, could slug. He's a top, top fighter. I don't think he matches up particularly badly here and brings a lot to the table that could upset a fighter like Floyd. Lockridge can adapt as well.

As I say, I favour Floyd. But this would be a great fight. Lockridge lost to the very best he fought there. Actually one of my favourite Chavez performances that.

Floyd is not far off that but a slight notch below, but he can probably get off first enough to win.
