    my controversial opinion:

boxing writers take part in one of the least noble professions. they criticize fighters who risk their lives in the ring and have the nerve put themselves in the boxing hall of fame. we on these boards are equally as guilty.

Cuevas would either get Chavez'd or Trinidad'd. even landing a lucky killshot wouldn't be enough imo as Oscar's chin is pretty reliable

The bold part is a hell of a good point you make, and I'm inclined to agree with it :good

I certainly agree with number 1. I have long stated that.

Josesito Lopez may have been undersized and overpowered against Canelo, but he did much better against him than Victor Ortiz or James Kirkland would ever have done.

All but number 4 of these have already been proven wrong.

The point is they sought him out. Were they punked or summat? We all know Oscar, Tyson and Toney were either past it or very, very past it by the time they got to Roach. They wanted him for a reason. They had their pick of top trainers on their names alone. I seriously doubt it was because they couldn't see past Pacquiao. He's had a huge roster of talent seek him out and work with him. They weren't all wandering in with Pacysteria.

What are your opinions on BHOP stating in late 2010, well after splitting with Roach and working with Richardson as his head man: "Nazim is one of the great trainers out there. He's in the top four or five trainers in the world. And, you know, if you ask me, I think he's in the top two."

Then, when asked who the number one is: "Freddie Roach."
Then, when asked why, not clarifying that he's just the top name but: "Because of his track record, his legacy with all the fighters that he continues to win with."

He worked directly with Roach, had split with Roach, was working with another top name, still openly regarded Roach as the best in the world. This is one of the consensus top picks for the sport's modern greats and best ring IQ's. And, this is late 2010. The year Pac was messing with Margarito and Clottey. Not exactly his most hypnotising year. Roach gets the media attention for having one megafighter and being his brash, English-speaking mouth. He gets massive professional respect for being a great trainer.

"Pacquiao was robbed against Bradley but the Pacquiao-Marquez 3 fight could have gone either way."

Both fights were robberies really though.
