Has everyone forgotten Bute was avoided before the loss? Ward Pavlik Dirrell Kessler
Now he has lost people forget that he was run from.

    - Ward didnt want to fight Bute, said Bute had to fight some other opponents first and didnt want to know, then when Bute signed to fight Froch, claimed he was just trying to hype the fight :lol::patsch

    - I read on various places how Pavlik didnt want to fight Bute. You would think he would have jumped at the chance , as he hasnt looked great in a while, being schooled by Hopkins coming off a loss, beaten by a former WW and not fought anyone decent for a long time

    - I read how Dirrell wouldnt fight Bute in Canada :patsch. What did he want? The champ to fight him in a smaller venue and probably earn less money. Most travel to face the champ.

    - I read how Kessler didnt seem to want to know, though would add that Kessler hasnt seemed to avoid anyone at SMW, and hasnt been right for years now. Kessler hasnt really fought anyone major since he took Frochs 0.
Also Kessler has arguably the best resume of any active SMW, so I expect Kessler wasnt well still at that time?

Now Bute has lost, we forget how much these fighters didnt want to fight him and how avoided he was.

You can't do that. You can't try and reclaim the moral high ground after the fact. History has moved beyond these back and forth accusations of ducking and vomited copiously into the lap of the hapless Mr Bute.

Lol Bute wasn't avoided more than anyone else. He didn't get into the super six, and he was overrated in the first place.

After the super six ended he took a risk against a top fighter in Froch and the rest is history...

Avoided? Nobody avoided Bute! The cream of the division joined into the tournament. Hungry fighters jumped at the chance to be alternates. Bute sat on the sidelines yapping and wishing for a big payday.

When his mouth wrote that check and got him into the mix? He was exposed. Period.

The fact Froch wiped the floor with Bute doesn't excuse certain other boxers ducking him. He was blatantly avoid by Ward.

When did Ward duck Bute when his broken hand was healing after beating Froch with it? Or when he decided to fight a better fighter in Dawson?

Ward is aleady a legend Super 6 champ

To be fair, Jack does have a point in that the Bute fight was there to be made, but Ward decided to delay to let it build up more. I don't think he ducked/avoided him, but he did pass up on the chance to get to him before Froch did.

In Pavlik's defense, Bute vs Pavlik was suppose to be the fight that made the Super six Irelevant, or so did HBO thought at that moment. Remember the double-header Bute-Miranda/Pavlik-Martinez. I remember Bute and his coach watching the Martinez fight at the post-fight conference of Bute-Miranda, they looked surprised by the turns of the event. Back then Pavlik was #1 MW and Bute after ko-ing iron-chinned #5 ranked Andrade and the loss of Kessler, he was also considered by most #1 SMW.

It doesn't matter what he had accomplished. Whether you rated him or not, he was still widely considered as the nearest challenger to Ward and the next logical opponent that everyone was expecting. Again, I'm not trying to imply Ward ducked/avoided him, but it's clear that the fight was there to be made (Bute could have waited on the injury to heal) but Ward preferred not to bother with him at the time.

And no, it's not like saying Mayweather ducked Canelo to fight Cotto. At no point has Canelo been regarded Mayweather's closest challenge, or one that everyone had been expecting next.

Anyway, back on topic. Bute was only "avoided" because not many people fancied travelling all the way to Canada to get robbed.

Well. He was IBF World Champ who took the title of another Champ and not vacate as some. He had 9 successful defenses until he lost it. He had wins over former and current World Champions. Wanted to fight the best but fell up short in his way. Wanna get back on track and takes a challenge in trying to beat the man most think he doesn't has a chance of winning against after their first fight. So I think he done more than most.
