The reports on Canelo's performance vs Golovkin were significantly more positive than they were for Quillin and especially Chavez Jr.

In other words, he did the old chicken dance. A video would be priceless. Like Judah's dance, but in red.

Yeah, I heard he beat up both Chavez Jr. and Quillin. No wonder Quillin didn't want to fight Golovkin when the fight was offered to him. And people have the gall to say Quillin is more qualified for a title shot than Golovkin is/would beat him. It must be tough being GGG and struggling mightily to even line up people to fight you.

If anything, Chavez's lack of defense and slow movement would be disastrous against GGG. GGG's power punches would have no trouble finding Jr's head or body, and I think Golovkin would eventually break him. It would be a fun fight though. If Martinez was able to get Chavez's respect and keep him at the end of his punches, there's no way Jr. walks through Golovkin's power.

Maybe. I'd like to see this fight. It's hard to imagine Golovkin knocking Jr. clean out or battering him to a stoppage, but it is possible. I think it's more likely Golovkin forces a cut stoppage of some kind though. Martinez messed up Jr.'s face pretty badly, and I think Golovkin could do even more damage.

Chavez's chin would make the beating worse. Junior would come out of that fight looking like Sloth from the Goonies.

GGG has fought good fighters not as good as Chavez, but his punching power is not a myth. We have seen it, going back to the olympics. Chavez's very straightfoward style in overwhelming his opponents with his ridiculous size and toughness would not fare well against that type of puncher.

Maybe it will be Chavez's next fight, if he does intend to stay at 160. Then we will find out if that his chin is really that good or its just the fact that he weighs 185 in the ring, or if GGG is just hype.
