he won some rounds against calzaghe because it was a legit set up. clean fight, good ref. kessler didn't get that in jokeland. he was cheated.
I like Ward, and JC is probably my least fav fighter of all time, there is nobody I wouldnt root for against him. However, JC fought a much better version then Ward did, no question.
http://www.sportenkort.dk/nyhed/69048/boksning/kessler-kaempede-mod-en-skade it's in danish though. here is it in english: Joe Calzaghe was not Mikkel Kessler's only opponent in the ring in Cardiff last night. The Dane also had to contend with an injury, he reveals to bt.dk. - I can reveal now that I have a hand injury and that I have not been able to spar for three weeks, says Kessler. Before the match flourished some rumors about a hand injury, but it was rejected by Kessler. He did so because it could have cost him the fight of his life to advertise injury. Kessler acknowledged, however, that Calzaghe was better on the day, while trainer Ricard Olsen attribute the damage more import ans. - The problem for Mikkel was the hand injury. He has not been able to spare properly since the injury, and against such a strong man like Calzaghe, you can not win without hard sparring, told Olsen bt.dk.
Kesslers hand was fine in the fight... but his stamina, tempo and timing was really not at it's best. :nono
Calzaghe beat the better Kessler. However, they are both relatively close to the same "prime Kessler."
No. That is either a troll or sarcasm of a troll. Aside from mental hiccups that fighting on the road provides (which is apart of the fight, so, that's on the fighter if he can't train or focus because of being away from home...), nothing about the fight being in Oakland changes that Kessler lost every round decisively. If it happened in Japan, Denmark, or Antarctica, the same fight plays out with the only differences being perhaps one round swung in Kesslers direction and maybe if Kessler were to get his own hometown point deduction.
Sven Warddke's fans show again their stupidity with this thread.the fact remains that Sven Warddke doesn't have a passport,he's feasting with leftovers, bums and drain fighters and he fought an injured Kessler where he was helped by his pal Jack Reiss to headbutt the guy.and i'm not even mentioning he was high on juice for that fight, check out Victor Conte at 0:30 explaining how he worked closely with Warddke for that bout [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tdy2GelJBqk[/ame]
The kessler that faced Joe was better, plus if you buy his hand injured excuse you have to buy the double vision thing, there is no proof of either.
Even though Ward would have still handled Kessler, the Kessler that fought Calzaghe was a better version.
