Ricky Hatton long term goals in his comeback

I don’t think money is a motivation for Hatton.

That means Brook/Khan might not happen. It depends where Khan & Brook are in their careers in 18 months time. If Hatton looks good in his comeback fights & Brook is holding the IBF belt coming off the back of a good win against Alexander/Bailey. This fight will happen.

If Khan looses one of his next 2 fights, then Khan v Hatton is pretty pointless. It will make money for sure, but it wont do **** all for either of them really.

Same with Brook, if he loses against Alexander/Bailey. The Hatton fight aint happening.

 

That's a fight that can never be construed as pointless. Domestically it would be a HUGE fight in this country and would gather similar momentum to Haye Chisora but without all the drama. Great fight for both fighters. And certainly one that Khan could win quite easily if he boxes sensibly behind the jab for a wide UD or a mid to late TKO on cuts.

 

With respect, if Khan loses again within the next 2 fights. Ricky doesn’t gain a great deal by beating a fighter who is perceived by many to be overrated & glass chinned.

Id love to see the fight, and as it makes money it will make sense.

As I said earlier, if Hatton wants redemption and to retire with his head held high. The risk of losing to Khan (who is already on a losing streak) might be too great.

 

And this is the reason why the fight will happen. Hattons been out of the game for nearly 4 years now. He's not the kind of fighter with the style to be able to go back into World Title contention straight away. He's going to choose the easiest options as his always done. Who knows what his motivation is but one thing is certain Rickys a fighter and fighting is in his blood. A bout with Khan would represent a fairly low risk reward in what would certainly be a big money bout.
