Yeah it does seem EVERY top player who gets to PPV status begin to duck and cherry pick fighters. Money > Legacy. The "he isn't well known excuse" is very weak. When they fought not known fighters before. I would have more respect for the fighter to just comes and say is too tough of a fight for me for the pay.

NO he holds more of an interim title. Geale is mandated to fight him or GGG will be elevated to full Champion at 160 by the WBA. by that time Martinez should be ready to fight. Barker, Dzinziruk, nor Macklin could say the same. His low rating had to do more with lack of exposure at the time, add that it was a Gary Shaw promotion and I'm sure anyone in boxing can understand that. Verona NY lol.

Small hardcore following comes from him training in the states and having sparring sessions with world class middeweights and consistantly getting the better of them. The tales were so legendary in the gyms that the lead writer from ring magizine did a whole piece on it. Again, Barker, Dzinziruk, nor Macklin could say the same.

Martinez is not getting Floyd or Pac in the ring. If he rematches Chavez fine. but other then that that's it. He is a b-side. It's why HBO dictates who he is going to fight even after beating a Pavlik and Paul Williams in the first place.

So if he doesn't fight Chavez next what is he going to do?

LOL the WBA had been saying the same thing about Sturm for years.
Then why isn't DiBella justified in waiting until that lack of exposure becomes rectified?
Who would draw more as the A-side, Macklin in New York or Golovkin anywhere in the States? It's great that a hack Fischer has a crush on him but that doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme.

Geale is an even more justifiable choice than Golovkin given he holds actual world title belts and fought higher ranked opponents.

Martinez next fight won't be PPV unless it has a strong "A" side.
(Chavez, or any of the WW's he wants... Pac's, May's, Cotto..)

    Canelo could get them there.
Sergio still chilling' on the B-Side.

i knew exactly what sergio was doing...living off the pwill KO, claiming no one wanted to fight him etc etc....

usually when no one wants to fight you, you conquer your own division, or move up, then talk ****.....but sergio was looking two divisions below him, looking for a payday......

did he ever even fight another champ at 160?...no, right ?

Sturm and Geale turned him down. He did fight the guy who should have gotten the decision over Sturm though.

Come on you are pushing it! Unify the division....there's 3 more champs, so that could take up to a year or 1.5 years to do. Plus defend 8-10 times? That's pushing Martinez way into his mid 40's! You know that ain't possible. And even if he did, just like the K brothers, the MW division is not stacked like in the 80's to be even considered an ATG based on competition. But either way its not happening.

Pavlik, Williams, Macklin and Chavez are all good wins.

The WBA has already sent the mandate. Geale and Shaw sound like they are ready to vacate. But the notice has alrady been sent.

It already is rectified, HBO loves him and want him back. You know how this works, once he is backed by HBO that's it. HBO will pay the fee and that's all Dibella cares about because he is not a real grass roots promoter. his money is not made on the gate, it's made from the HBO hand out. If it werent for this Dibella would of put up his own money and had the Martinez - Zbik fight like Top Rank does whan HBO doesn't want to buy a fight.

GGG has already been on HBO and had a good performance. that alone outweighs anything Geale has done. Remember... exposure in the USA is what counts here not merit, your trying to defend a duck.

True. No one is denying that Sergio is now a PPV attraction. That spot is left for Floyd/Pac/Cotto. Not even Bradley is an "A" lister now.

Oh and if GGG was Irish and Macklin was from Kazakhstan who would draw more in NYC?
