Serg just got the biggest fight he gonna get at MW when he beat Chavez. From here on in, he gets nothin but solid contenders, not any big fights. Pac and May ain't ever gonna fight him. Dibella oughta know that.

Golovkin is gettin overrated right now, but he's a worthy challenger, and thats the best Serg can hope for. No sense in Lou dismissing top 10 MW opponents. Serg ain't gettin any younger, nor any bigger a star than he already is.

Nope stripped with the belt going to the N'Jikam-Quillin winner. Actually I think it already belongs to N'Jikam.

Oh so it wasn't his show? Now John Duddy use to put up numbers in the garden without HBO. It's the Irish fans they support their own.

Highest money fight Sergio can get is fighting Pirog in Russia. PERIOD.
    He doesn't want it.

I don't think Soliman would be a good defense, but would provide legal cover for Geale to skip the WBA purse bid, if the IBF mandates the Soliman fight. If he's gotta choose between the 2 in the same timeframe, go with his original belt. Plus it would have some regional interest, not that much though.

Too bad that super attractive opportunity to fight for a belt he was already stripped of is off the table. And no, he'd make more in a rematch with Chavez Jr and actually be widely available in the US.

Just looked it up, you are right, they stripped him because he had agreed to fight Geale, but the injury ****ed him over because he might not be able to setup the Geale fight now.

Money is still there for the fight in russia regardless of if Pirog has a belt. Hell technically Sergio didn't have a belt when Pirog and co were trying to get the fight made, except for "the ring" belt.

Sergio isn't making 3 mill fighting Chavez Jr. when he made half that in the first fight and Chavez Jr. himself only made 3 million.

Biggest money fight for Sergio is Russia against Pirog.

No he's right, it was gonna be Geale on HBO when they threatened to strip Pirog. Then Sturm made Geale an offer, who took that due to better money and certain unification

I'm a Pirog fan, but he needs to get over this back ailment and beat someone decent before challenging the likes of Sergio

Both guys had upside and the fight exceeded expectations at the gate and in buys. He gets a bigger cut in a rematch that could do better in both regards than the first bout. Also, Pirog isn't fighting again until 2013 and who knows if that oil money is still there now that he's beltless and has been inactive. And of course, the fight with Chavez would actually be carried on something other than ESPN3.

All I'm saying is this, Sergio has been running from Pirog for a long time. Now he is running from GGG.

He does not want to fight a true top class 160 fighter.
