Yup, and both Martinez and DiBella, used the excuse of Pirog isn't known, he won't bring money. They now use the same excuse for Golovkin. Funny thing is that, Barker, Macklin and Dzinziruk weren't known either, and Martinez still got his million and change HBO pay day. HBO wouldn't give Martinez any less than that million and change minimum to fight either Pirog or Golovkin, it is just being a bit cowardly on both Martinez' and Dibella's parts. Martinez needs to cut the ****ery. He makes disrespectful comments because Pacquiao won't fight him, then he calls out another smaller guy in Mayweather. All this after claiming he couldn't make 154, so he need to fight Paul Williams at a catch weight. Then saying Andre Ward is too big, he can't go up that high. I like Martinez's skill in the ring, but he makes himself out to be one big coward. He wouldn't get any less for Golovkin or Pirog, than he got for Barker, and that bum Dzinziruk. If your scared, say your scared.

It's a simple answer. Yes, they are. Not in hype, but in name. Golovkin doesn't even have hometown fans.

GGG is two fights from being the clear cut #1 contender in the division. It makes sense they're looking to blow Sturm out in emphatic fashion while everybody waits to see if Geale has the nerve to sign to fight him before December 31st passes, or give up his WBA Super. If he does fight him, and manages to outpoint Golovkin, he'd rightfully deserve the crack at the legitimate champ. He's more qualified on paper atm but half of the Top 10 is absolutely shook by GGG. Either way, Martinez will have a real #1 by May.

No, Dzinziruk is with Shaw/Pelullo and was forced on Martinez by HBO because they made an absurd deal with Shaw to get Bradley/Alexander. Barker wasn't a mandatory but was offered the fight after Chavez, Sturm, and Geale declined.

lol WHO was GGG when Martinez fought all 3 of these guys..C'mon now. GGG needa build his name up and then Sergio can beat on him..till then he doesn't bring the type of money that Sergio is now used to making.

And yes, Macklin is more known than GGG TODAY. Macklin was on that undercard and looked great.

Golovkin's resume is better than Barker's and Dzinziruk's at the time that Martinez fought them. Don't be hypocritical.

Martinez just had an easy money fight against some hyped bum so its time to step it up. unless he really gets a fight with Cotto or Floyd, he has no excuse to duck Golovkin at all

Dzinziruk had been considered the best fighter at 154.

GGG does not have that kind of record.
Barker has a very similiar kind of record to GGG
