Sergio close UD. JT wins the first half of the fight as he pumps the jab and is fresh but as the fight goes on, his shitty defense continues to get exposed and he loses his discipline as he tires more and more. I don't think Martinez can take JT out given JT can fire back some explosive combinations.
this was a fight that i thought about recently and thought of making a thread on well i think Taylor would win, i never liked the guy in his prime, i thought he was flawed, easy to hit, tired down the stretch, cut easy and swelled up easy well i went back through his fight a little and i think that his jab would have given Sergio all kinds of issues, i think he had enough power way more power than Barker and Macklin and Sergey D to hurt Martinez Pavlik to me hit harder than Taylor and was a better textbook boxer but I think Taylor being more athletic than Pavlik would result in him getting to Martinez and delivering his shots and hurting him unlike the guys Martinez has faced that said i could see the tricky Martinez make it odd like Spinks did while getting in clean hard shots, maybe he battles Taylor and takes him out late like he has so many times I will say of Martinez is he is the first RING Middleweight Champ since Hopkins to not disappoint
So avoiding contenders at 160 while calling out everyone from welter to super welter isn't disappointing to you?
Lots of bike ridin till JT cant breath no more. JT will get hit with a hard left somewhere in 11th or 12thi K.o. SM

Sergio's combinations and work-rate will be too much for JT. I never liked him in his prime anyway, he was never a great fighter
Pretty much this. JT uses tons of extra energy, which is why he gasses. Martinez will start to land cleaner as the fight goes on. Taylor should have a pretty decent sized lead which starts to disappear down the stretch. One caveat is the Martinez might land a sneaky hard counter and score a knockdown, maybe even a stoppage, but I doubt JT can do the same. Close, controversial decision to JT based on his activity level carrying enough early rounds to build up a points lead.
Is this a joke? Winky Wright arguably beat a prime Taylor. How the **** is Taylor gonna deal with a faster, stronger fighter in Maravilla?
Some of these replies have to be alt's that are trolling. Taylor was trash. Wright won at least 6 rounds, arguably 7. How is Taylor gonna beat Sergio when he could not even convincingly beat Wright?
Taylor is one of my favored fighters, I would have to go with Martinez. Taylor always look great the first 6 rounds, then would gas out. I think the first half would be all Taylor then Martinez would pull away the last half and get a late stoppage or just dominant the later rounds.
Man this is tough. Even in defeat prime JT would not lose quietly. If Sergio stood and traded, JT would outwork him first couple of rounds, and on the outside it'd go back and forth. How I see it is JT outboxing Sergio early and Sergio gaining on him later in the fight. Sergio's craftiness and JT's lack of defense give Sergio a come from behind victory by SD or stoppage. Aside from Rj, Hearns, and SRL, Jt would outbox anyone on explosive reflexes alone first rounds then starts gassing out or losing focus. Sergio too smart for JT, but would probably have to climb off the deck once and weather the storm JT could be fast as **** tho inconsistent.
