Great post. No One cares about Boxing now so people can hide with their records. Take Calzaghe for example, He eventually risked fighting Hopkins here but He would have never gotten away with that record back in the 60's 70's. Can you imagine Buchanan not fighting Duran?

Not saying that Joe wasnt a good fighter.

Buchanan didn't view Duran as any type of threat, thought he was slow. Of course, this was a crude-as-**** Duran who had yet to learn to utilize his jab and feints.

It's also the way it's marketed, the Huge PPV mega fights are every 5 or 6 months in order to sell to the casual viewer who probably has'nt kept up with an star record. In that particular context the 0 will draw better.

well according to some *****s, it's not really pure muscles. it's water so floyd's excuse and saying he could not fight pacquiao even for next year doesn't hold any water.

Fair enough, but my point is back then you cannot hide, look at the mid eighties for example Mccallum, Jackson, Curry, Kalule, norris, mugabi, they were duking it all out and these are the 2nd level guys in terms of popularity. The nineties, just take a look at Vargas, this kid could have padded it up but at a ripe age was already fighting the likes of Winky and Ike back to back. These guys would be top 5 p4p now. Sure there were fights that werent made like Pryor/SRL but they had their own "big" fights aswell.

The sad part is someone like Canelo or a Broner is a couple of wins against bums away and people are going to be comparing them to those guys I mentioned:lol:

Unless ur new to the world of lifting, nobody is putting on 15 lbs of pure muscle on in a short period of time. Stop it. Floyd trained in prison and did not lose 15 lbs of muscle. Ducktales.

Floyd cares about his zero and money. If he's gonna risk his zero vs. Pac it's gonna be on May 5th or Mex Independence

Oh yeah, I know that statement ran completely counter to the valid point you made, but I couldn't resist. That was totally out of line. :-(
