Tyson was only 29/30 when Holyfield beat him. Same thing would have happened to Tyson pre prison aswell
Wow. Tyson started to fade even before prison Fame got to him and without Cus's dicipline he fell. Remember the sotry about Cus finding Tyson's weed when he was young? 1988 Spinks Tyson for sure... Holyfield would be too scared to even try headbutting
Oh give me a break. Why is it so many people cant just accept that some guys arent as good as they like to believe. Instead we have guys saying mind numbingly stupid things like boxers were past prime in their mid 20s
Doesn't matter. Question is Spinks Tyson vs Prime Holyshield. Sorry that I think 29-30 yr old Tyson was much different to his 19/20/22 yr old self.
By the time Tyson fought Bruno, you can tell the wheels are starting to fall off. Less head movement, less jabbing, less defense, etc.
Well by right, physically he should have been better in his late 20s, but anyway, like I said, same thing happens to Tyson when he meets prime Holy, since if anyone was slipping when Tyson and Holy fought,it was more likely Evander.
Criminal how underrated Tyson is here Any ****** knows that 3 years away from the sport will change you as a fighter ... Muhammad Ali was not the same after he returned and neither was Tyson ... Holyfields chronic headbutting and roiding are what allowed him to cheat his way to a "victory" against Mike ... Anyone who watched that fight knows that Holyroid was ROCKED from the second punch of the fight and then decided to smash his head into Mike Tyson was in his physical prime when he went to prison and came back to his first fight 4 years after that at the age of 28. He left his physical prime behind and he had already showed diminished skills before entering prison. He was just not the same Mike of the late 80s or even early 90s. As I stated before, the Michael Spinks of the Tyson fight would UD "prime" Holyfield.
awwwww, Mikey got a little roughed up by Holyfield?? You do realise Tyson spent his entire career throwing elbows and pretty much being just as dirty as Holyfield was right? How on earth do you leave your physical prime at 28???? And Vitali went away for 4 years and in his first fight back won the world title, whereas Tyson had 4 fights and over a year after his prison release before he went in against Holyfield and he was basically the exact same weight and condition as he was when he fought Spinks. He looked just fine KOing Frank Bruno in 3 rounds. Holyfield beat him up, and then he beat him up again and Mike couldnt take it so he took the easy (and disturbing) way out by biting a chunk off another mans ear off. Simply put,Holyfield was just plain better than the guys he was fighting in the 80s. Its just that simple. He wasnt going to allow himself get bullied, intimidated and had a good enough chin to take Tysons punches.
Holyfield would beat any version of Tyson because he was tougher than any other opponent Tyson had ever faced and would not have been intimidated by bravado. Holyfield would have never quit like Spinks. Even if he is rocked early, there is no way he is staying down for the count. Tyson's only chance is to get TKO early.
Tyson lost to him 2x.....stupid thread. Tyson was vary over rated, he never beat one great heavy weight in his entire life.
