Decarie is putting in lead rights to the body, bowing forward and ducking his head. Perez waves his fists around under his chin and feign a few right jabs while keeping a cautious eye on Decarie. More dives in to tickle the chest with a right hand by Decarie. Nice left hook by Decarie swooping in past Perez's arms again, weaving through a couple of hammerlike blows. So far Decarie's defensive body movements are trumping Perez's hand speed, although his own punches aren't necessarily thrown with much greater velocity. He's just placing them very well. Right hand over the top by Decarie, and another up top as Perez chops down with his jab. Body shot by Decarie.

It pisses me off that by the time my son can appreciate boxing, he'll be seeing that **** on all the big cards instead of Michael Buffer. :twisted:

 

Perez is looking amateurish. :err


...and Decarie isn't exactly a high-class boxer, based on my few times seeing him before - he's just looking a class above here.

 

Round 2

Decarie is taking it to Perez, stuffing jabs up in his face and backing him up. Decarie is hitting the body at will. All Perez can do is push out a right jab and try to check Decarie's body shots with halfway thrown variants of the same. BIG RIGHT HAND BY DECARIE!! Perez is buzzed, leaned up on the ropes. Decarie whips the body with more rights!! Perez withstands the offensive surge from Decarie and is able to survive the round, stepping back and pawing his jab.

I'm a Joe Martinez man. IMO he should be Buffer's heir apparent.

Diamante and to an extent Lennon Jr. are both too phony and flashy for me. Joe just keeps it real and does a professional job.
