I would favor Floyd because Sergio will be an old fighter coming down in weight after an injury. He will have hard time making the weight and will gas out late in the fight letting Floyd win a close but clear fight the most competitive one since Castillo-Floyd 1

Nah man, you got it wrong.

How is he expected to knock Floyd out? His awkward style will make it hard for Floyd to figure him out and he will be getting punches in and being aggressive, that way he will pick up the rounds as it will look good to the judges.

For him to knock Floyd out he will have to hit Floyd with enough power shots to take him out, Floyd has a pretty solid chin and heart and will not be taken with one punch if that actually lands, so a Martinez knockout is something that I dont think will actually take place.

Floyd will probably win by decision but it wont be easy.

Martinez will be fighting at an uncomfortable weight, Mayweather will be fighting at an uncomfortable weight so I feel this fight doesn't take place. Canelo vs Floyd? That is something that could work.

Also I said his best chance, that doesn't necessarily mean Martinez will win a decision, just that a decision is a more likely outcome.

If you're laughing at the thought of Floyd beating Martinez by decision, I can assure you, you have the wrong forum.

Martinez would batter Floyd. can you see Floyd standing up to Martinez's work rate from the Chavez fight?

and I'm sick of the "floyd is too smart" bull**** like Sergio isn't an adaptable fighter as well. another hypothetical win for mayweather

Martinez's workrate would be cut down. Martinez would not be able to throw as much as he threw with Chavez.

Go look at Floyd's opponents...they all have their workrate cutdown. We call it "handcuffed" in the boxing gym.

Floyd UD and I hope it does happen because this fight poses a real threat to Floyd where as the Manny fight is just something painted to the public like he is a real threat.

I have Mayweather at 154, I don't think Martinez will get down to 154 too well.

I have Martinez by KO at 160, Floyd would be at a massive disadvantage, throw that in with Martinez' obvious talent and it's a disaster.

We will never know as Floyd won't take that fight, Martinez is not a big enough name/has not earned it.

If Martinez can make 154 comfortably, then he wins.
Nothing against Floyd, I've thought for a while now the only guy who can beat him between 140-154 is Sergio

And if his knee can hold up. Against Floyd, Martinez will have to use a lot of movement and foot work.

floyd has to fight aggressive to stand any chance, as thats his best approach against southpaws.

I think Martinez stops floyd coming in with a straight left. Quite early in the fight too.

Nothing against floyd but he'll be too small against martinez.
