This looks to be the end of the road for him, though. At least he'll finish on his feet. (maybe)

Cancio is chasing as Gonzalez rapidly turns back and forth from southpaw to orthodox, flicking jabs from either stance while keeping well clear of Cancio's power. Big body shots loaded up by Cancio, but not putting in the work to get into range first. Long combo to the face by Gonzalez, tapping Cancio on the bridge of the nose and allowing himself a moment to spring off the ropes. 1-2 by Cancio. Flush left hook by Gonzalez before drifting away. Cancio steps in and chops a right hand through Gonzalez's guard. They trade shots from mid-range down the stretch.

Both men are hoisted on their camp's shoulders, smiling and gesturing to the crowd and each other.

Cancio looks disappointed. He can only blame himself. He should have been busier, accounting for judges who don't emphasize quality over quantity.

 

Julio "The Kid" Diaz (who's now in his thirties; maybe time to pull a PBF and find a new nickname...) walks out to the ring with his gloves resting on the shoulders of his kid.

 

This is the 2nd bout of Diaz's comeback since getting blasted by Kendall Holt on FNF a year and a half ago.
