Lacy was a slapper, he would hardly ever land punches with his knuckles. Most guys were intimidated by his physique, and didn't realize they could easily outbox him.

even if it wasn't for the shoulder, i don't think he would of come back after what joe did to him. that was soul destroying.

Lacy was a legit bomber, A. He may've been ponderous 'n predictable, but he had HEAVY HEAVY hands.

This. He beat some descent fighters, but the marketing exceeded his capabilities

He's definitely not the biggest fraud of all time. I don't even know if I'd call him an outright fraud. He had some ability. But as pretty much everyone has mentioned he was made out to be better than he was. I think his main problem was mismanagement....he was moved along very quickly....and just a lot of things going wrong in his career.

How quickly was he moved along? Well, he got a title shot in only his 17th fight and was moved on to a unification bout in only his 22nd fight...against the best fighter in the division.

As we all know, 2 things happened. Joe Calzaghe thoroughly dominated Lacy over 12 rounds, literally winning almost every second of the fight, and it should have been stopped at some point. The second thing that happened was that Lacy ruined his shoulder in his next fight I believe. Both of those events worked to ruin his career.

The reality is Jeff Lacy was a fairly limited but still servicable fighter. His power and chin were able to see him through the easier parts of his career but when it came time for him to step up to the table with the legit players in the divsion (well, player, it only took 1 fight) all of his awful weaknesses were exposed; the leaky defense, his predicatability, his ponderousness, etc. Calzaghe boxed rings around him. When he tried to rebound, he ruined his shoulder robbing him of some of his equalizing power that saw him through his past fights.

Reid wasnt as good as he used to be, but was still world class and hadnt long beaten undefeated B Magee, putting him down 4 times in the process to win a clear decision. That Magee was only a poin behind on 2 cards against Froch and giving Froch hell before losing in round 11. Reid ruined Magee and he could never hold a shot as well after Reid had him hurt so many times. Magee is fighting Kessler next for the WBA regular title, so that tells you about Reid and that he was better than Berrio who Steiglitz split a couple of fights with.
even after Reid lost to Lacy he beat Brinkley who became a Bute mandatory, which shows how Reid was in a tougher era and still doing enough

All this happens in a fairy tale land.

Groves would school Ward? I struggle to think somebody who claims to know boxing actually believes that.

He could have done more on the boxing scene but his beating to Joe was so intense and at a time when he was entering his top form. Calzaghe simply ****ed him up beyond repair...

    Lets look at Ward.

Tell me one big fight Ward has been involved in where he was the away fighter?
Tell me one top undefeated fighter Ward has fought?

What big fights has any American or Canadian SMW won away in Europe?

You're hungry. Time to put your findurs pancakes in the oven. What reason would you have to dislike Ward other than the fact hes better than Joe.

"Joe Frazier was a pure boxer, Lennox Lewis had NO BOXING SKILLS, he just had strength. Frazier would have disposed of him""

Can this man's boxing opinions be trusted? Especially when his opinions is different from the opinions of all the boxing pundits and writers out there.

During that year, the hype was too big.

Some posters here even said that Lacy could end up climbing to the heavyweight division and win a belt there :rofl

I guess they thought that his left hook was going to KO Wlad Klitschko :rofl

It don't matter what you said. You slipped and said

'Lewis had no boxing skills, he was not a GOOD BOXER, Frazier was a PURE BOXER'.

That makes you ****ing ******ed. Lennox outboxed Holyfield for 11 of 12 rounds in the first fight. One of the MAIN REASONS lennox didn't get as much hype as Tyson was because HE WAS TOO GOOD of a BOXER and technican. AND NOT A BRAWLER.

Lewis had great technical skills, great counter punching abilities, and great footwork for a big SHW. He had great boxing abilities. This is ****ing set in stone. We both know you don't know **** about HW'S. So just shut ur ****ing mouth and go back to getting pwned by Bailey.
