True statement, also consider that the the individual that started the thread is quite possibly the biggest ***** of ESB.
Damn I was wondering if he done canned Eddie as a trainer LOL. I knew something was weird when he was not over there but I didnt hear them comment on it i musta misted it. Also - It did not appear it was Povetkin's punches so much doing the major damage but Rock's knees & not able to hold himself up. How in gods name did anyone let him go in the ring like that is what I want to know. His corner or his family should of stopped this before it happened. He would of fallen against Eddie Crumble with those knees...but Povetkin bulldozed him. What a sad day for a past it champ.
shows you how pathetic the WBA is for not only sanctioning this, but making him the top challenger in the "world" by via mandatory status :-(
Ain't boxers supposed to do medicals? How on earth he passed one of them I have no idea but it was clear he was holding onto the ropes for support because his knees were ****ed, not because he was particularly hurt by the punches. Reminds me of the Solis vs Vitali fight, fighting with knackered knees isn't good.
Good fooking post Expat.:good I'm 4 yrs younger than Jones Jr and have taken my fair share of blows without cobwebs.....but Roy would likely KO me cold well after his 60th birthday.:think
Agree iceman & Chappy - certainly should not have been pressed as the #1 mandatory. His 5 KO's recent KO's were cans, I was at the last one and he didnt look this shot even 30 lbs heavier. ANy of the guys he was fighting would have buckled his knees at this rate. I cannot believe his knees at the Pov fight...Just WOW. No idea how he passed that medical test either. Barely enter the ring like a drunk, then take punches. Just WOW again.
:hi::good Roy will KO you when he's 80...unless those booties in yer avatar are with you 24/7 !!!!!! Good posts as always chitown
Very true, but you can't tell a CHAMP to quit. He made the fight, looked better physically than he has recently, but like most would observe, it takes 100% to compete at this level, and often times, even that aint enough. Rahman aint finished IMO. He's got plenty of decent fights ahead if he wants them, but the likes of Botha, Holyfield, Grant, Boswell, or Mormeck aint exactly gonna propel him into a title fight anytime soon.
I dunno Goat, I may be able to outzoom him in my hoveround by then Thanks for the compliment too.:good
Perfect point of view bud. I wish that if he wants to continue that he would take the easier roads and retire successful. There is no way he can compete at the elite level. I still wonder & fear though that those knees will give out even against a bum. I am a true fan and wil miss him but after last night there's just no way. I can't get over the fact he was able to early KO cans with those legs! Just land a jab on him and he's done LOL
All is quiet for now in the Rock camp. I'm sure I will know more soon ... it's such a bad day for a champ to realize he has diminished this bad. I blame the training camp partly! What a waste of a title fight...he did not and should not of belonged there. Coming from one of his biggest supporters here. (me) :admin:yikes The Rock is done.
