he was years ago, yeah. he then lost it to joe. when joe retired the lineal title didn't become vacant, everything was reset. no one has beaten enough of the top guys at lightheavy for there to be a lineal. just because you are the number 1 in the division in most peoples eyes, doesn't make you the lineal champ. you have to earn that. the americanised bull**** rankings aren't going to change that.

if that's a fact, then it's bull****. pascal simply couldn't have been the champ after only beating dawson and diacinu. so if he's not the champ, then how the hell can hopkins be after beating pascal?

the way the americans rate dawson has been a ****ing joke for years. he's not beaten anyone other than old fighters. the only young fighter he meets (other than adamek) he ****ing loses to him. ridiculous.

I want to give it to Jones, but I'd probly have to give it to 'nard followed by a tossup between Pac, Lewis, and Holy

Whitaker, by a lot. He did it right by cleaning out the division he has in and unifying the titles, before moving up to rule another division, while dominating each weight classes best fighters.

You can make a case for a lot of the guys but for me it's Pacquiao and I'm far from a "*******." Just look at the HOFs he's fought at multiple different weight classes...

    Marco Antonio Barrera x2
    Erik Morales x2
    Juan Manuel Marquez x3
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Ricky Hatton
    Miguel Cotto
    Shane Mosley

Lacy hadn't done anything of note before or after he he fought Joe, unless you count his win over a well past it Reid as doing something. Lacy was the definition of a hype-job.

Jeff Lacy had pretty good power and he was being hyped up big time by the American Media. I don't even think it was Joe that took his career, it was the horrific injury that happened in the next fight that did.

To take credit away from Calzaghe because Lacy didn't live up to potential is not fair though. He clearly showed some skills (B Level B+ ). Calzaghe was a slight under dog and that's the bottom line.

Either everyone under estimated Cal or everyone over estimated Lacy, either way it's a good win.
