actually I just rewatched VItali Lewis Wow that fight really showed just how great Lennox was. He was a drunk in there stumbling and swinging, and still managed to start turning the fight around in Round 3 on wards. He was hitting Vitali and hurting him with a variety of punches. It's just like a super slow motion version of what Prime Lennox looked like, but even super slow Mo Lewis managed to tko6. Great win. I had the fight 3-3 going in to the 7th. (so did the vast majority of boxing pundits around the world)
He was fat, but it was not 3-3. He was getting his ass kicked clearly, and got lucky with the cut. If they both had time to train for each other, and LL had not retired it would have been a different fight, that I think lewis would have pulled out on points. Not sure though.
Ruddock or Golota. Klitschko is the second biggest name on Lewis' win resume...But, by seeing how that fight actually went, you can't really put is as Lewis' second greatest victory.
It might not have been 3-3, but you didn't watch the fight or you are bias. Getting your azz kicked is what happened to Tito against Hopkins it's what happened to Tyson against Lewis... It's what happened to Pavlik against Hopkins Lewis-Vitali. is ""a fight in which Vitali clearly won one round, and had a great start. He began to fade and Lewis started to bring it around round 3 on ward. A cut forced the stoppage. I didn't know landing vicious upper cuts, straight body shots, big right hands and monster left hook =getting your azz kicked. Lennox's monster hooks and right hands along with his uppercut caused Vitali to stumble around in a drunken haze. This was a out of shape past prime lewis as well.
LL made a wise decision to retire lol, otherwise he would have to train hard, get in shape and get KOed
38 year old Lewis would have won a wide UD in embarrassing fashion against Prime Vitali. It won't matter because than threads will be made about 'why did Lennox retire to duck WLADIMIR'
Dude, you are the first person I have ever heard or read who had it as anything other than 4-2 Vitali. Easiest six rounds to score ever, can't F that up dude...
Well Vitali/LL were both heavyweights, it was not blown up lhw vs heavyweight Lewis was out of shape, but at the same time Vitali only had a few weeks to get ready. Considering what that fight was for the short time, their should have been rematch. Where they both could have trained for each other for months. Considering Vitali's freakish chin, he could have beat him then. As I said I would have still favored Lewis to win on points. He just had more offensively. I do think he retired and turned down millions not to have to face Vitali again though.
Lewis was down on all 3 scorecards and could barley stagger to his corner at the end of the last few rounds. He got a lucky cut which he opened up more with the inside of his glove. Lewis landed some clean shots over 6 rounds but nowhere near enough.
Prime Lewis brutalizes wither prime klitschko As it is fat out of shape Lewis beating prime (if glass hearted Vitali) is his best win due to circumstance IMO
Don't agree that wrestling with Holyfield 2x is Lewis' best win. Not at all. Lewis should have brutally stopped an ex-cruiserweight, but he didn't. In fact Lewis' allowed the fight to be close, instead of being a one-sided beatdown. Let's also not forget Holyfield didn't do *ANYTHING* of significance after losing to Lewis. Unlike Vitali. There is a good argument that Klitschko is Lewis' best win. Vitali was a young, good fighter in his prime that after losing to Lewis went on to dominate the division for a couple of years and has remained unbeaten for a good dozen fights.
