You should take a look back and see what was happening to RJJ at the age of 36. A 40 year old Calzaghe beating the RJJ that got sparked by Tarver and then by Johnson and then beat by Tarver again is not outside the realm of possibility I wouldn't have thought.

    :deal

You have to laugh at the insecurity of Jones, Hopkins and Ward fans whenever a Calzaghe thread pops up. In fact most of those threads are started by Jones, Hopkins and Ward fans :nut

By the way, Jones was the Ring Magazine number 6 LHW when Joe beat him, where was Dawson ranked at SMW when Ward beat him?

Thats half the point im making. It was another 4 years after those defeats when he was completely finished when Calzaghe faced him. But even back then he still beat Tarver who Calzaghe wanted no part of. Calzaghe himself knew he could not beat Tarver.

I've never heard of Mr. Eubanks. Who is he?

...now if you're referring to a one Chris Eubank - a different person altogether from Mr. Eubanks (please remind me again who he is because I've never heard of him), then no, a win over him at the tail end of his career doesn't trump decisively beating Kessler, Green, Bika, Abraham, Froch, and Dawson (three of whom went on to win titles after the loss).

    Don't kid yourself.

zgahes isnot a reflex fighter, hes a workrate fighter.

He was quite sharp emough to reflex beat **** fighters than any decent boxwer can beat with speed, but reflex wasnt his main asset, by far his greatest asset was the ability to keep moving for longer than his opponent. Thats what he used to overcome his toughest opponents that he was unable to outbox (Kessler and Hopkins and probs Reid), deliberately picking them for reduced stamina.

Let's not forget, Ward went life and death with Bika who Calzaghe already ruined.

Kessler that fought Joe, beats Ward, Eubank that fought Joe, beats Ward, Bika that fought Joe beats Ward, and Hopkins that fought Joe beats Ward.

    Boone beat Ward ffs haha.

Joe was a blown up smw, brittle boned, shot and ****ed up Hopkins best LHW and p4p 3 in his back yard, Wards best win is against the slowest SMW champion of all time, and even that wasn't as easy as it should have been for anyone with speed. Dirrell did better, Ward won't fight anyone with speed, and don't give me bum Dawson, he was already exposed previously.

Why are people talking about C level Tarver too... another Ameribum hypejob carefully matched

Jones was 39 when he lost to a 36 year old Calzaghe. Why do his fans try to make out he was 40?

Roys fans seem to have an excuse for everything on here, yet they all seem to ignore the fact that he was never the same fighter after he was found guilty of taking steroids.
The weight drop after Ruiz is another poor exaggerated excuse from Roys fans.

Pathetic, Enzo is reaching here. It's apparent he is worried about his son's legacy. Virgil Hunter is a great trainer, and a student of the game, I've also never heard him be disrespectful or talk trash. He's just confident in his fighters abilities, and what would happen if such a match-up occurred, just like Enzo is confident in his son.

In my personal opinion, I tend to agree with Mr. Hunter. I believe Ward is too good in every area, and would probably drop Joe at least once, before going onto handily defeat Calzaghe in a wide points victory. Of course, that is just my opinion though. :conf
