I voted Manny cause i know thats what the public would like...for me i would like him to either go up and win the middleweight title, something welters like the Sugar Rays did and Oscar and Tito failed to do plus winning another title at another weight would bring his weight jumping accomplishments closer to Manny's ive given up on the big one so i would prefer an alvarez or bradley fight they actually make sense
Sergio is better for floyds legacy if he fights him at middleweight which will never happen. Manny is done and on a decline, the future will look back at manny pacs record with asterisks for refusing steroids testing.
Pac would be seen as better by casuals and Martinez would be remembered as better by boxing fans, even more so if it was at 160.
I voted Sergio just because I think he is higher threat (Size/punching power advantage). But since boxing isnt as main stream anymore, casual fans will look at Manny as a higher win for Floyd than Sergio. Just because they know his name more. He should fight both though.
Manny. Beating the fighter of the decade and a top 25 of All time will do more for his resume than beating someone who is borderline Hall of Fame. Even though the Sergio fight at this time is the tougher one for floyd.
whats the other other option mean? it doesnt make sence given the question. Unless your asking any other boxer. If so i would like to change my option to other "Wlad Klitchkko"
people are dumb. Floyd beating manny proves he's the best fighter of the era. Only real hardcore boxing historians will remember martinez in 50 years time, if that.
You could make a case for both guys but I think Martinez would be seen as the better win. Pac will go down as a greater fighter than Martinez but he's currently a welterweight and his best weights were one, two , or maybe even more divisions lower. Martinez will be seen as a very good middleweight champion and is either at his best weight or just one division above it at most. Mayweather moving up and beating a very good middlweight champ carries more weight than beating a great fighter fighting several divisions above his best weight. Of course a strong argument could be made claiming the opposite but I'd go with Martinez.
Sergio by far. Manny is a very easy fight for Mayweather based on styles. Sergio is a very hard fight for Floyd based on styles and size difference.
If it's Martinez at 160 for the undisputed middleweight title, then Martinez for sure. Otherwise, it's Pacquiao.
:deal My thought's exactly. Martinez will not be remembered by history. Pac will be remembered as one of the greatest ever. A win against Pac does far more for Floyd's legacy, even if Martinez is a far tougher fight.
