Good posts. :thumbsup Lewis beat Mercer 7-3, but I get why you used the term 'life and death'. Holyfield definitely did achieve a lot.

Holy has an amazing resume, made even more remarkable by the fact he spent most of his career fighting guys 20-30lbs bigger than he was.

Lewis' weight took a lot out of him in 1999 as he was approaching his late 30s and limited his offensive output. He just couldn't bring it for full rounds anymore; not against a smack-dab prime fighter of Lennox's caliber and physical attributes. Decribed dealing with Lennox in clinches feeling like he was covered by a cement blanket. :verysad

:-( Holy looked completely exhausted after the 1st fight, but in typical style he came back stronger & made the 2nd more competitive.

I found this on youtube the other day, this guy has uploaded all of Evander's cruiserweight fights, most of which I'd never seen before.

It even has a few amateur fights & goes all the way from his debut up to the DeLeon fight.

They are around the same..... maybe Pernell is ranked higher, but it's not just 'this place'.

This is boxing news's top 37. Boxing news have not gone to **** like the Ring and it's the world's oldest boxing publication.

    1. Ray Robinson
    2. Muhammad Ali
    3. Henry Armstrong
    4. Joe Louis
    5. Ray Leonard
    6. Roberto Duran
    7. Harry Greb
    8. Jimmy Wilde
    9. Willie Pep
    10. Archie Moore
    11. Benny Leonard
    12. Jack Johnson
    13. Carlos Monzon
    14. Marvin Hagler
    15. Sam Langford
    16. Stanley Ketchel
    17. Tony Canzoneri
    18. Sandy Saddler
    19. Gene Tunney
    20. Jack Dempsey
    21. Rocky Marciano
    22. Joe Gans
    23. Julio Cesar Chavez
    23. Pernell Whitaker
    25. Larry Holmes
    26. Ezzard Charles
    27. Evander Holyfield
    28. Eder Jofre
    29. Mickey Walker
    30. Thomas Hearns
    31. Alexis Arguello
    32. Jose Napoles
    33. George Foreman
    34. Joe Frazier
    35. Lennox Lewis
    36 Manny Pacquaio

If you look at the guys between Pernell and Lewis, you can easily make a case Lewis surpass them. Obviously this list is up for debate just like any list, but to say that it's OUTRAGEOUSLY unfair

sweet pea oh sweet peaa :|:|:| is losing a tiny poll on ESB to Lennox and Evander is stupid.

Cases could be made, the fact that they are heavyweights alone should hold more weight. It's boxing premier division. It's the torch of boxing and what made boxing the sport it is.

The best RESUME, not the best skills..

You have mayweather's resume above Pacquaio etc?

You just went against most of the boxing pundits around the world. Actual boxing writers and not just posters on ESB disagrees with you.
