If today's HW division is so terrible, then why didn't Rahman win?

And if the 70's were so good, why couldn't Ali beat Berbick?

If the fab four era was any good, why was Leonard destroyed by Camacho?

Obviously, every fighter from the past was terrible.

Age has got nothing to do with being shot. Some fighters are shot before they're 25, like Fernando Vargas, others are fine when they're in their mid 40s, like Hopkins.

    Rahman is shot, Foreman wasn't.

This era is no worse than the 80s.

The only reason I can consider calling this HW era a bad one is because outside of K2 fights, no one else fights with good opponents. Top 10 dont fight others in the top 10. They all fight bums, get rankings and then wait for a Klitschko shot.

If there were more fights like Haye-Chisora, Povetkin-Chambers, and Adamek-Solis then the division would be much more interesting, hence better

Partly because hes pretty much 40 and in terible, terrible shape.

Also Rahman was never that good. He was "lineal HW champ" for about 11 mins in the ring

However the fact that up until quite recently, you've had the likes of Briggs,Rahman,Holyfield,McCall,Ruiz and others all sniffing around world level, shows the lack of depth in the current division. Guys who had their prime in the 90s! and most weren't even THAT good!

    I mean,even Vitali is 41!

You don't think the sanctioning bodies could have come up with a better mandatory than Hasim Rahman if they wanted to? :rofl:nut:patsch

Yet the top fighters and prospects are using him as an opponent. :patsch I'm not saying there were never bum fights in previous era's, that was and always will be a part of the sport, but overall there were more competitive matchups and fights to look forward to.
