If today's HW division is so terrible, then why didn't Rahman win?

That punch probably would have knocked out any fighter in history. Anne while I wouldn't call Moorer's chin cast iron, he was only stopped by two ATG's and a vicious puncher in Tua after he was past his best.

    Wlad is glass-jawed.

However, glass-jaws existed before Wlad Klitschko. Even in eras that some ESB fanboys regard to be the best ever.

Very true. But skills and stamina have fallen off greatly at heavyweight as well as a willingness to fight the best. That is hardly disputable and why this era sucks.

You just can't run away from the fact that there are several reasons why previous eras in the heavyweight division were worse than this era. I think people ought to make more of an effort to knock the rose-colored glasses off the sentimentalists.

Rahman was the WBC champion at some point and considered one of the best in the division.

Foreman was taking a major beating before landing the punch that finished, that kind of finish happens often in boxing, nothing new there and doesn't say **** about the division as a whole.

Let's take a look at recent champions of this great heavyweight era:

Hasim Rahman (WBC Champion) - Did you forget?

    Oleg Maskaev (WBC Champion)
    - Old and shot yet still somehow made it there, did he make it in the 90s when he was in his prime?

    David Haye (WBA Champion)
    - Despite still being at cruiserweight, David Haye was ranked #1 at heavyweight for trash talking :rofl Do you honestly think a cruiser who always had stamina issues would get that kind of attention simply for talking smack in a PROPER division? The fact that it was lacking got him the attention a dead division desperately needed.

    "Sugar" Nikolai Valuev (WBA Champion)
    - All he did was throw jabs, good enough to be a champion in this pitiful division.

Lamon Brewster (WBO Champion) - Surely an all-time great in your list.

Chris Byrd (IBF Champion) - Good fighter, but seriously a light heavyweight reigning for 3 years?

Roy Jones Jr. (WBA Champion) - Special fighter but naturally a light heavyweight clearly.

John "The Quietman" Ruiz (WBA Champion) - Thanks to this man, James "The Buffet King" Toney isn't officially a champion, otherwise this list would be pure comedy. Then again, Ruiz a champion for 2 years only to be defeated by a rising, yet special, Roy Jones Jr. who's naturally a light heavyweight? Remember what happened to Ruiz in the 90s?

Corrie Sanders, may he rest in peace, (WBO Champion) - As a Klitschko fan I can't help but cringe when I see comments from MANY Klitschko fans rating Sanders as a top 10 ATG heavyweight puncher. Sanders was a tough unpredictable heavyweight due to his speed but fact is he's a two to three round fighter at most who's also a part-time golfer. Survive the first two to three rounds and he's in to be taken due to stamina issues.

Surely I must be missing/forgetting some, can you blame me? Have fun now.

Why don't you enlighten us about the era's worse than this. This era is the least skilled with the worst stamina filled with guys looking for easy paydays instead of working their way go the top or coming back from defeat looking to establish themselves against the best fighters. Hands down this is the worst era ever. There is one surefire ATG, and he bores people to tears.

You know what's funny? The 1993-1996 Morrison would be the third best heavyweight today behind the bros. :yep

A guy who held a belt in the 90's and schooled the future to be linear world champion, would be a distant third in today's "weak" era and wouldn't even hold a belt.

    :think.........:good......:thumbsup
