Yes the but the point is Eddie and MR have Tony moving in a direction, they have him out and on Sky Sports, there putting him out there !, i agree the guys record looks padded but he does have momentum, a fair few stoppages in his last 15 fights, and its a co main, its another opportunity for Bellew to look good and gain ground on the rankings, meaningless? probably, but everyone around Bellew (including himself) knows its a gradual step up for him, step by step, and this is another step

The rails completely come off when he was with Frank and he wasn't/isn't the only one in that bracket

Hearn looks like he will be called Mr. Eddie "Mandatory Ranking" Hearn by this time next year, when i imagine his stable will have swelled, but at least he's actioning things and getting his guys out!

This fight is a necessary evil to further Tony's career and if he is kept active then I have no problem with these sorts of fights, especially as it is on an undercard. Eddie mentioned in the iFilm interview that he wants to do a show at the Echo early next year and he would have to get Tony a good opp if he wants to fill it.

its a progression from journeyman to journeyman i agree

they are fighting the same level of fighter but bellew is "progressing" even though he is fighting cabbages lol

the cocksucking on here gets to epic levels when bellew is concerned

The fight serves a purpose. Its the easiest fight against a ranked fighter.
I dont for one minute think he will be looking for easy defences if he gets a world title.
Clev, to be fair to him fights whoever fish eyes puts in front of him.

I dont expect tony to be the type of guy always looking for the easiest option. But when your trying to position yourself nicely in the rankings, why not take the safest route. Of course, when you become champ, its a different matter.
It depends on whether you want to be a champ like froch, whose legacy can never be questioned or like calzaghe, whose legacy will be debated forever.

Legacy aside, Calzaghe was a superior boxer to Carl. No doubt who has the better names on their record, but there's a reason Frochy was calling out Calzaghe for so long - he was the best out there.

On the subject of Bellew, this is a decent fight serving a purpose. I don't particularly like the guy but he's a talented and willing boxer who shouldn't have been subjected to defending his personal finances on a public portal....
