Ok,how much did it take out of him?

    I mean ball park? 20% 30%??

I mean you "SAW" how much it took out of him, so tell us how much?

He won his next 2 fights after that by stoppage.

And his next fight was less than 5 months after the G-Man fight,so its arguable how much it took out of him.

The point of this thread is to give the impression Hopkins didn't become an elite fighter till his 40s so Calzaghe gets more credit for the win. It doesn't fool anybody.

He suffered minor brain damage in the McClellan fight, beat a couple of nobodies, lost to Malinga, then lost twice to Collins, looked terrible in all three fights and retired :patsch

(EDIT: Nardiello was a good fighter, but the war with McClellan took an awful lot out of Benn)

Anyone who followed Benns career know that he was never the same after McClellan.

The biggest disgrace in it all is that Jones ducked both Benn and McClellan, promised fight the winner, watched them nearly kill each other, and still ducked the winner to keep fighting bums. Roy was never interested in fighting the best, he clearly ducked Jackson, peak McCallum, Nunn, Benn, Eubank, McClellan, Collins, DM.

From Toney onwards, Roys lists of opponents were nowhere near what they should have. Part of his legacy will be that he was a steroid user that ducked the best.

With regards to the OP, the Jones win over Hopkins was a good one, though Hopkins is an overated fighter that was nowhere near his peak in that fight. It was also an extremely boring fight to sit through, a fight I have never bothered to watch again since it happened.

My posts, where I havent said the word shot about Benn once.
Due to me owning you, you are trying to jump on something I havent personally said
I dont think you can put an accurate % on an person and what a war does to them, but you can often see effects it has on someone and Benn after a tough long run was declining.
Dont you think that also with how he looked against MAlinga who beat far clearer earlier in his career and the way the fights looked against Collins?
You probably havent seen the fights if you think it was the same Benn in his 2 fights with Malinga

Have a search around the net for intel and come back and pass it off as your own knowledge like ever other thread you make.

Umm, he quit in the first fight against Collins because of an ankle injury.

What kind of brain damage did he suffer? Considering he was cleared to fight a number of world title fights after that night, one of which was less than 5 months later.

I dont see a time where Benn beats Collins. Collins was a better fighter.

Malinga went on to beat Robin Reid a year later, so its not exactly earth shattering that he beat Benn.

And he it is.Simply putting it up because...well...who doesnt like watching RJJ at his most imperious

You see Skittlez showed how predictable you are and that he knew what you were going to do, before you even knew yourself

I dont anyone has seen the first Malinga fight. If you have, good for you. You must have been there.

But he won on points, it wasnt like he KO'd Malinga earlier on.

And the fight he lost to Malinga was a close decision. It wasnt like he got beaten down or just quit on his stool

He had a shadow on his brain post McClellan. It had deteriorated to a brain legion by the time of the Collins fights. He really had no business fighting post McClellan

A lot of fighters looked the other way, including Eubank. The only fighter I know of who wanted to fight him was Toney and of course Benn

So what, terrible example. As said Ward beat A Green by boring points over 12, whilst Kessler blasted Green out in 4, but ward beat Kessler when they fought

Malinga should of got the decision after his first fight with Benn. Thats the problem with fighting abroad, you tend to land on the wrong side of decisions

The first fight was fougbt in 100+ degree heat at altitude. The referee was probably on the take. He didn't credit Hopkins with legit knockdowns and it looked lime he blew the call on the second knockdown of Hopkins which looked like a foot tangle or something the way Hopkins went down. That was also the best Mercado ever looked.

The fact that they BOTH were in the same position.. (unlike a fight between Mayweather and let's say a Danny Garcia) shows that both had the same to gain both had the same to lose.. I bet if Hopkins beat RJJ.. we wouldn't be saying this same debate
