Chavez Sr.'s awareness of his body positioning relative to his opponent is some of the best I've ever seen. It's astounding he can often stand there without budging as shots hit his arms and shoulders, with absolute confidence that his opponent can't reach him. No need to slip any wider than to make the punch miss, and no need to move at all when he's secure in his guard on the inside or out of range.
