    The options are:

Miguel Vazquez- IBF champion on a 10 fight winning streak. Won his title against Ji Hoon Kim, then defeated Ricardo Dominguez, handed Prescott his first lost and outclassed Lenny Zappa. His only losses are to oversized Tim Bradley and Saul Alvarez

Antonio DeMarco- TKO'd Jorge Linares and earned the WBC title and became a major player at 135. Most recently destroyed John Molina in about 45 seconds.

Ricky Burns- has only fought 3 times at the weight but 3 solid victories easily outpointing Michael Katsidis and Paulus Moses, before knocking out Kevin Mitchell in the 4th round.

Richard Abril- Here as an option because we all know he beat Brandon Rios, he's also beat Miguel Acosta. All of his losses are split decision and he reckons he was robbed on each one.

Note- you can't say Adrian Broner because he hasn't fought at Lightweight yet?

It close for me. If the losses for Abril to Rios and Lundy would have been wins then he takes it.

I feel Vazquez has beaten more quality fighters at the weight than the rest so I'm voting him.

I voted Ricky because I thought he'd be down in the poll, but he's winning!

I might have voted for Vasquez though.Glad I didn't now.

I'm quite surprised by Ricky Burns winning the poll.

Could one of the people who voted Burns present an argument to make him the #1 lightweight in the world please?

    I didn't vote Burns.

However you can argue that all the top fighters at lightweight have had losses in the past, Burns has looked very impressive since moving up, dominating all three of his opponents, the idea that burns wins h2h or simply just the fact that there is a good set of champions of similar ability and you prefer Burns, just like Broner fans would vote DeMarco #1 just to say Broner is #1 if he wins.

Abril gets my vote, the official results don't matter.

Katsidis and Moses are very good wins against guys who have held versions of titles and Mitchell, whilst not being World Class, has beaten some decent fights in Murray and Prescott and Ricky destroyed him.

Still think I'd pick Vasquez as the no. 1, but it's close between him, Abril and Burns. DeMarco's best win is Vasquez, who if we're being totally honest has shown to be a mental midget along with having **** punch resistance.
