Andre Ward vs Chris Eubank

    you have just said Eubank cant throw overhand right on the inside and then you go on to say that Ward beats him in a long range battle. Eubank was an exceptional defensive boxer and he had all the tools to handle whatever Ward comes with. Ward doesnt have any power nor does he have the balls to stand and fight. He would try and hit Eubank and get out all night long but Eubank was far too fast to be beaten that way. Look at the first fight in that Eubank video I posted. Look at how fast that counter-one-two is. Andre Ward would take at least a few of those no doubt. Basically Ward is just an awkward fighter for straight ahead boxers like Kessler, Abraham and soon Froch. But against Eubank... haha... Ward would look messy and foolish and the only thing his head would crack would be the canvas :deal

    You guys had Toney, McLellan and Roy Jones in that division back when Eubank and Ben where around and they avoided our boys to death. Maybe you Americans think the SMW division was **** because your boys wouldnt leave their back garden to fight us :hey

    (not saying that Toney and Roy Jones would have been beaten by Eubank but they still avoided us)

    Obviously ApatheticLeader is British. Americans tend to rate Eubank higher than Brits do, because the Americans appreciate boxing skill more and having a slick style.


    I think Eubank would've ground Toney down with his stiff jab and frustrated him with his movement and angles.

    Yeeeah, unless you have a high workrate, standing at mid-range and initating the fight isn't what you want to do against Eubank. Funny thing is, if you did pretty much anything else, you'd stand a 50% chance of winning - and that's if you're a very, very average fighter.

    Anyone who thinks Eubank beats Ward is totally deluded, he would win maybe 2 or 3 rounds if he was lucky.

    it would be close but ultimately Chris would pay the price for giving away early rounds by being lazy early on, and wouldnt be able to rally late against Ward who would tie him up and make him miss.
