Dominic Boesel vs. Vladimir Tazik, 6 rounds @ light heavyweight

 

Round 1

Boesel is working jabs and hooks to the body while leaning his tall frame down on Tazik. Quick jabs from the hip holster by Boesel. Tazik circles with single and double steps laterally, trying a few high-flung right hands behind his own jab. Tazik has a bit of belly flab jiggling when he quickens his step while circling. Boesel is targeting that area with well selected hooks and shovel rights. Boesel isn't pressing the pace but is keeping Tazik honest with the jab. Almost all of Boesel's power punches are body shots, and never more than two or three at a time. Tazik tries to clap his way up Boesel's sides and finish with a few hooks behind the ears but Boesel gets his long arms folded up in the way. Jabs by Boesel, pushing Tazik toward the ropes but backing off and covering up in time to catch a Tazik overhand right in midair. More jabs by Boesel.

Does anyone know what's actually live, btw?

BoxNation and Rossiya2 both have Boesel vs. Tazik on, basically simulcasting - but German TV is showing a completely different bout (definitely the same card, same ring adverts and everything) between a tattooed southpaw and a much shorter guy in yellow trunks.

So which bout is live and which is delayed footage?

 

Round 2

Boesel continues to walk Tazik back with his jabs to the forehead and low-dug hooks - occasionally putting in a looping right above the hips for good measure. Tazik backs up and tries to catch Boesel walking onto his own up-jab but doesn't quite have the timing. Boesel is walking forward, not setting the world afire, but landing the better shots among the few thrown.

Round 3

Boesel unrolls a long jab into Tazik's head and then checks the Slovak's counter jabs on his forearm. Boesel is starting to open up a bit more now, herding Tazik to the ropes and leading with fast uppercuts to the ribs, following all the way through to end up inside and pressed against Tazik. Big left rips downstairs by Boesel. Tazik is doubling over from the body shots and taking greater care to bounce away on his toes, countering less. Weak jabs by Tazik on the back foot and Boesel just snaps his own longer jab right by them to score. Hooks to the body by Boesel from outside. A high flurry by Tazik, all caught on the guard as Boesel smoothly interrupts his own stride for a steadying reversal. Lead rights looped around the guard by Boesel, knocking Tazik back. Quick straight right after spinning Tazik toward the ropes.

30-27 Boesel

 

There's no compelling reason for Boesel to let Tazik hang around for the entire second half of this, unless the point of the exercise is to log a bunch of minutes. He can finish him if he puts his mind to it.

Round 4

Boesel is putting together hooks to the body and a solid 1-2 up top to drive Tazik back. Tazik ducks behind his forearms and tries to lean in. Looping rights from Boesel rock his head and Tazik's breathing is visibly labored. The wrist guards on Tazik's gloves are ****ing enormous, my goodness, halfway down to his elbow...just noticing. There's an entire roll of industrial duct tape on each. Boesel is whipping Tazik around the ring, not quite picking up the pace to go for the kill. Jabs and 1-2's to the face by Boesel, keeping Tazik easily out of range to counter.

That fight was from August!! atsch I just figured it out, that was Felix Lamm vs. Eloy Rebollo from the Abraham vs. Stieglitz undercard.

Damn German TV isn't even showing live stuff!!

Glad I stuck with the English language commentary. (which is really the only reason I wound up going with Boesel vs. Tazik instead)

Round 5

Tazik is scooting around Boesel with quick lateral circling and trying to lob in a few shots while curling his back and rolling inside. Boesel keeps him out with the jab and drills Tazik in the top of the head with quick rights. Tazik is leaning and holding excessively, pulling Boesel down by the upper back, but doesn't get warned. Uppercut on the inside by Boesel. Tazik is in full evasive mode, getting jabbed and snapped in the head with straight rights while trying to keep off the ropes.

Tazik = short Slovakian in red. 4-11-1 (0)

 

Round 6

Boesel is jabbing and finding the target with no difficulty, bloodying up Tazik's nose, but is slapping lazily with right hands over the top as follow-ups. Left hooks to the body by Boesel from beyond the limits of Tazik's wingspan. All Tazik can do is drift to the ropes and wait for Boesel to walk forward behind his jab, curling in and trying for a few body shots with his head bowed. BIG 1-2 by Boesel. Quick left, and Tazik is hurt and holding. Time is running out. Break. Clinch. Break. Big right hand whipped to the cheekbone by Boesel. Another. Clinch.
