Fair to say he isn't the fighter that fought that literal punch- and step-perfect fight against Dieppa all those years ago...think he gets out-worked tonight? Fair to say Fuentes wouldn't have been allowed to rinse out his jockstrap back in the day.
I think he loses tonight and retires quietly, without ever having got the mainstream recognition that his talents deserved.
always been overrated along with alot in history in those lower weights. talent down their is non existant
Hopefully. Never more than a 6\10 fighter. Not nearly enough finesse and ring craft to inflict such a boring safety-first style upon us.
He's been completely done since the first Segura fight. Somebody stick a fork in him before he gets too hurt, hopefully Fuentes can get him out of there early tonight to convince him to retire.
Feel free to shove a pineapple up your ass. Calderon's talent was always bigger than his body. Hopefully he'll pull it off tonight and retire on a good note.
well.... I have to say this. I'm just about as big a boxing fan as you can be, and of course I appreciate great boxing even without power, Paulie etc. I know that Ivan was a great, great technician. That being said, I couldn't ever make myself watch more than three rounds or so of a Calderon fight. There was just something about his style that totally put me to sleep. Dullest fights in the world.
