On what planet does it even remotely make sense to defend Bob Arum?

I know he's not the only culprit, but look at someone like Don King. King only screws over his fighters. Arum screws over his fighters and the public. Not even close imo.

And lets not forget (those of us that know), Arum was behind the NSAC clearing an aging Ali (who was already sufferring from dementia) to fight a PRIME Larry Holmes.

Arum is shady as ****. Certain "fans" have been warned about him for years, but they let their idolatry of a fighter (and hatred for another) cloud their judgement and affect their critical thinking skills. (That's the nicest way I can put it.)

Anyone still defending him is COMPLETELY misguided.

seems like a lot of people don't know the history of boxing.

don king and arum are probly angels compared to the people that came before them.

boxing ain't going to get fixed until there's only one sanctioning body with only one champion and there's a way where ranking system can't be manipulated.

Not allowing minority fighters shots at titles is the only difference I can see. Sure there was mob influence as well but you're naive if you think there's none of that today.

Really the fact that Arum is screwing fighters just as badly today is almost worse. Athletes are making millions more than they ever used to but Arum, King and other promoters seem to be content with screwing fighters just as much if not more than past promoters did.

There really is no defense or justification for it at all. Seems like an agenda to me.

?? son, i've believed that ever since i started following and reading up on boxing.

...and now, at least now there's a federal law that limits/dictates what managers and promoters and sanctioning body in each state can and can't do.

Correct. But its not a valid argument for condoning and supporting the dodgy ways of others.

Lol that was more "you" in the general sense. Not you personally.

And trying to stop corruption is like trying catch air with your hands. Anything can be manipulated... including federal law. The only difference now is that they can't be obvious with it.
