    Canelo has been saying he wants that fight. Let's see if "Daddy DeLaHoya" will green-light it.

    Canelo's management is stupid for considering this fight, but this is what boxing needs. The best fighting the best.

    With that said, I don't think Canelo is ready yet. Canelo should fight a guy like Cotto first or even Lara.

    If Cotto elects to box, and move around, he has a great jab and very good footwork. Lara doesn't use a lot of leteral mobility, but at least he's a a skilled a southpaw.

    Both fights are winnable fights for Canelo and less risky than Martinez.

    However, Lara probably won't bring in very much revenue, and Canelo would have to sell the fight on his own. I'd still like to see that fight though.

    Canelo hasn't fought a single top guy. What makes him think he can beat two of the top three pound for pound fighters in the world in Mayweather and Martinez?

    He has a better shot at beating Mayweather than Martinez.

    With Mayweather, he can use his size and strength. He won't have that advantage with Martinez because they are both the same size.

    If he does have a strength advantage, it will likely be negligable.

    Martinez is more mobile than Floyd, and is more dynamic. He may be easier to hit, but he also hits much harder.

    Floyd doesn't have a lot of firepower, so it will give Canelo a better chance to impose his size and bully Floyd, banging at his body, especially as Floyd retreats against the ropes.

    Regardless, Floyd is irrelvant because Floyd hasn't shown any interest. Martinez is interested.

    I have high hopes for Canelo but this is too early. He COULD beat Martinez but realistically he will het worn down and stopped late

    I think this fight could be made.

    Contrary to waht some people on this board think,I dont think Canelo is afraid of anyone.

    The guy has been fighting men since he was 15, I really dont think he scares easily.

    GREAT fight if it happens

    Canelo has a great attitude, just talk or not, its a lot more refreshing to hear then the status quo in boxing these days of 'ill fight who my promoter puts in front of me' and even worse then that, the mayweather drivel.

    Will we see the fight? Probably not.... but at least its refreshing to actually see a fighter with a warriors attitude.

    As far as can Canelo beat Martinez, I think he can yes.

    Should he be favored? No.... Id lean towards a Martinez victory, but hes getting old, Canelo is beasting. The time is now for Canelo and hes a dangerous fight for anyone who can make 154.

    I dont believe the fight will be made...

    DLH will have somebody else in store, somebody more "dangerous"..
