Mike Tyson: "The Klitschkos would have been hard to beat in any era"

    Tyson is full of praise for the duo and said: "They should dominate. They have learnt their craft and overcome adversity.

    "People want to see very exciting guys, talking smack and knocking guys out. People want barbarism and blood.

    "But I love what the Klitschkos are doing. They beat people, they inspire people and they're erudite, they show you don't have to be brainless to be a boxer."

    Asked if he would have defeated the brothers in his prime, Tyson added:

    "I'd like to think so, my ego makes me think so! But these guys would have been hard to beat in any era, they're changing the face of boxing."

    its true they would be hard to beat, even though most haters say otherwise. for all his financial trouble i always found (not just now) that tyson is a generally smart guy (who had hard time dealing with shity situations)

    Tyson speaks very realistically. I am a K2 fan but I would fancy prime Tyson to beat at least 1 of the brothers.

    i like interviews like this, people who know boxing giving boxers their dues

    its funny how fighters haters are so sure that the fighters they dislike are bums but legends will tell you other wise

    this isnt just a klitchko thing but im sure the fab 4 would all be willing to say Manny and Floyd are great fighters and would be difficult in other eras

    Well it would not be an easy fight,although he tyson may make it look that way, I don't think knocking out someone in round 1 is easy either

    This is something the haters don't want to hear... The Klits would have been top class in any era.
    I think prime Tyson would beat prime Wlad 3/5 and prime Vitali 1/5.

    Wow to hear this from a former great champion is refreshing. If Lewis was honest he would ditto Mikes comments. Ali and Foreman would have had admitted trouble too. Great fighters

    Lennox Lewis says hello.

    And before you talk back, Lewis qualified for the olympics he reached the quarter finals in while Tyson didn't qualify for those same olympics.
    And saying Lewis bloomed earlier than Tyson is not a counter argument...

    I fancy Tyson against Wlad who don't like fighting on the back foot. i think Prime Vitali would beat Tyson owing to a combo of granite chin, size and skill
