similar result, Vitali is a league below even old Lennox.

Klitman is lucky he didnt fight him sooner or he would have been bitchkilled.

Lennox was an on off fighter. He was not in good shape vs Vitali, weighing 8kgs more than his usual weight. I've always thought that the fact that Vitali was slightly ahead, has been excaggerated for years. The tide in the fight was clearly turning at this point, Lennox getting closer and closer with his bombs after a slow start.

Vitali was\is a terrific fighter, but I can't help to think that a Lennox in good shape here, would probably win a bit more comfortably than he did. When that is said, nothing wrong with the decision, Vitali was tko'd on serious cuts caused by punches, in that case the rules are clear.

IF it happened, Im sure Lewis would have come in more like 245 and beaten Vitali.

However bare in mind, that a year later Lewis would have been 38,pushing 39.

At some point a guy just has to walk away from the game. Lewis picked the PERFECT time.

Shouldnt this be in the TKO 6 thread??

I think that Lewis was learning how to fight Vitali in the last 3 rounds and he was starting to **** Vitali up. So in a rematch I would favor Lewis to do the same, but at the same time it was a brutal fight and a damaging fight for Lewis too. Lewis could have come in the ring shot the second time round.

    We'll never know I suppose

Lennox would have realised that coming in out of shape was just not on 2nd time, and I think Vitali would soon come to the realisation that he missed his chance.
We know how Lennox would cope with a rematch, but as Vitali has never been in with anyone close to Lewis's status then we have to assume it would be a far more convincing victory for the best heavyweight of the last 25 years.
Lennox by stoppage before the 9th.

its hard to call considering all teh things surrounding the fight, Lewis was heavier than usual adn neither of them were training to fight each other until 2 weeks before the fight, plus the longer it took for the rematch the older Lewis would be getting

Lewis would of still beat him and he beat him so well the first time a rematch wasn't needed. That was one of the best TKO's i ever saw.

Lewis knew why he ducked the rematch that every boxing fan wanted to see.
He knew that he can not beat Vitali so he decided run away.

You mean "he knew that he can not beat Vitali (a second time) so he decided run away"

Lewis would be more prepared even though he was past it he would win clear decision, he just underestimated Vitali second time he would not!

Lewis was almost better in his rematches.

Lewis would won the rematch like he did the first fight.

Vitali had not the one-punch-power to KO Lewis and not the boxing skills to outpointed Lewis.

    Lewis by TKO again.
