Former Australian MMA fighter Lucas 'Big Daddy' Browne (13-0, 12 KOs) will face Richard Towers (14-0, 11 KOs) on December 11 at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center in Wan Chai, HK. The winner would be in line to face the current heavyweight Commonwealth champion, David Price.

Odd fight- they've both been sparring together and seem like mates, plus Hong Kong?!

Browne KO. Don't put Towers in with a big puncher.

Hong Kong seems like a really bizarre location.
I agree Browne wins this by KO - Towers looked awful against Gregory Tony last time out and was fortunate to get the win thanks to a dodgy ref.

Towers is a massive hype job. Better he gets exposed and gives something else a go sooner rather than later.

Towers last fight was one of the weirdest Ive ever seen, his punch resistance looks seriously shaky

Its a shame because with his past & how he's turned his life around I really want to see him get a title shot.

Random as **** but decent matchup. Seems like Towers isn't going anywhere, a chance for him to prove us wrong. If he wins well, a step up is needed. I think Browne takes it though

I'm chuffed about this fight mainly because its in Hong Kong!

Ricky Hatton came out here about 5/6 months ago to watch some lowkey card that I didn't know was on. Turns out he came here because he wants to branch into the Asian market. Quite an audacious way to go BUT it can work. MMA is pretty big here, there are MMA cards on at the big casino's in Macau all the time so there is an appetite for the fightgame. There are enough expats here (both Brit and Aussie) to get a few tickets shifter plus with the fight promotion the locals could take to it too, just look at Chauncy's fights in China. The fact they are HWs helps too but they've got to make it as highbrow as they can, kind of like Honda has been doing in Japan, as if it is a pissed up event like back home then I don't think the local will like it.

It is a rather audacious move. But obviously Hatton was a man on a mission 6 months ago and sniffed out what he has identified as an opportunity. These guys are both BIG heavyweights and that may carry some additional attraction to the HK market.

So where does the hype come from? I have to admitt I've only seen his last fight where he looked less than impressive. Is the hype just based on a good KO rate and his size?

I think its a good fight from the perspective that they are coming from similar positions. Unbeaten, yet untested. Good KO rates. Its a step up for both fighters so good on them for both them taking the opportunity. I did hear they became mates when they sparred earlier in the year. Hopefully they wont have an issue with punching each other in the face lots:bbb

Awesome to see some potential Aus v Pom rivalry for the Comm title.
