Wlad's a genetic freak, he's been big since forever. This is a 20yrs old Wlad. This content is protected That being said i wouldn't be surprised if he used something at some point in his career.
And it's very possible that he has. Even with PEDs, though, he'd have to be a genetic freak to maintain that type of physique into his late 30's. ****, just being 6'6" makes him a genetic freak in itself, doesn't it?
There are thousands if not tens of thousands of natural bodybuilders across the world who have a similar levels of bodyfat and lean muscle mass -- even in the 35 - 45 age bracket. The guy in the following video is now in his 40s and started working out in his mid 30s. His physical results are nothing extraordinary while his dedication is, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6Z0w8lPCq2w I myself have gained 30 lbs of lean muscle mass in my mid 30s. I never used any PEDs or mystery pills. I don't understand what makes people question other people's muscle gain results. Look at bodybuilders who admit to using PEDs, look at their results, then look at the guys who claim they're natural and look at the difference. While you can never 'see' steriod abuse you can see an abnormal size difference. Wlad's size is nothing unnatural and nothing to be suspicious about. People who never worked out don't realize that muscles increase in volume during workout ("the pump") because blood is flowing into them. Vascularity improves through blood flow so you see arteries popping up through the skin. Most newbies immediately scream "STEROIDS!" when they see arteries because they never worked out. Here's a pic of a cold, un-pumped Wlad during the weight-in for the Haye fight. Look at the deltoids and biceps. Certainly, to the untrained newbie eye this looks a lot more 'natural' but this is the exact same physique that has people screaming 'ROIDS!' when pumped: This content is protected
Non-sense. Is Wlad's type of physique rare among 37 year old bus drivers who sit on their ass all day and load up on junk food? Yes. Is Wlad's type of physique rare among 37 year old hobbyist all-natural body-builders who have been working out and dieting for 20 years? No.
So now you're telling us not only how Wlad works out, but what his diet is? Boxers train the same way they have for decades with more wight lifting mixed in. In almost every case body types are changing, getting softer in their mid to late thirties. They very rarely stay the same or improve naturally. In fact, how many fighters have you seen this in?
It's laughable to think that people over 35 cannot have oustanding physiques, especially sportsmen. We've grown so accustomed to seeing 35+ year old men with beer bellies that people think that that's how the average man in his mid 30's or older should look. Complete load of crap.
Floyd Mayweather may be the hardest worker in boxing. He's been fighting the same amount of time as Wlad, put less weight on, yet appears softer. Please explain that.
Is it a change in bodytype or a change in attitude? Is it likely that a fighter in his mid thirties just doesn't train quite as hard as he used to? Like for example a fighter who has had a long, successful career, been there done that, has been living the good life, and just doesn't quite have the hunger of a young, determined up-and-coming fighter? Is a successful champion as likely to be killing himself in the gym the same way a young, hungry kid is? In most cases, no. People mature with age mentally, and they often just don't have the drive anymore to really push themselves the way they used to. I think any guy in his mid thirties or forties on this forum can attest to that. I'm not denying that eventually age takes it's toll, but at the same time, a good dietary plan and regular workouts can largely combat this.
But does he work quite as hard as he used to? We don't know for sure either way. I'm not suggesting that a man of 40 will have the exact same physique as a man of 20 - there will be differences - but it's idiotic to suggest that a man of 35+ cannot be in fantastic shape, with the right dedication and discipline. And this is especially true of a professional athlete. Look at Ed Corney or Vince Gironda as examples. You can see that they didn't have the bodies of a 20 year old, but they had simply outstanding physiques nonetheless.
Maybe Floyd is on a low-calorie diet or does a ton of aerobic excercise (running etc.), which catabolizes muscle. That's why long-distance runners don't look overly muscular unlike their 100m sprint peers.
Wlad's nutritionist posts on this forum, he gave run downs of Wlad's training camp diet many times. David Haye talked about his diet in many interviews as well, just google it. Their diet is very similar.
