Forget Prime Lewis. I don't even know if Prime Vitali could have taken Young Lewis of the Ruddock days. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N120cwqaS7U[/ame]
This fight remain me of that movie of the aging milf who still somehow managed to steal this guy from his beautiful college girlfriend in her prime. Just imagine the milf in HER prime...
This is what I don't understand from fanboys who insist he should have rematched. So many fighters hang around to long and either lose or do permanent physical damage to themselves. Lewis left after beating one of the best fighters of the next era and still has all his senses and money. In boxing that is the perfect ending to a career, I'd figure everyone could understand it and would want the same for their fighter too. I would have respect for ANY fighter choosing to close out his career that way.
Going by your logic Hasim Rahman retired Vitaly for 4 years because Vits was scare of him right? Vittles only came back when he realized "The Rock" was just a shell of his former self and that he would be safe against the current crop of tomato cans. :-(
Klit fans just love their double standards!!! Lewis accomplished everything and beat the best, but its not ok to change his mind. Vittles has NEVER beaten the best and fought tomato cans since coming back. He said he'd fight Haye because it was personal and it had nothing to do with money, yet negotiations cant get done because of money. He said he was going to get his title back after losing to Byrd, yet he never did that or sought the rematch. That all ok though because you will try and figure out a way to spin that hypocrisy, right? Freakin clowns!
Did he fight them? NO, he RETIRED!!! If he had wanted to he could have STILL made those fights and left boxing like Vittles fighting Charr. Instead he left after beating a prime Vitlles.
How exactly do you know they were booing Lewis and not the doctors decision to stop the fight? Its not like in Germany when Byrd beat Vits and the crowd was cheering him, you knew exactly why they were cheering because there was no other alternative. The booing at the end of the Lewis fight was for the stoppage, not Lewis.
Good video. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIRShCBKwng[/ame] I won't say it's 'iron' but this video really show you how much punishment Lewis took throughout his career and how his chin really is under rated. Going into the Vitali fight, his body might as well have been a 45 year old's.
