I seldom disagree with you B B,I was just pulling your wooden leg a little.

Britton also stopped Ted Kid Lewis once in their series , not an easy thing to do.

Now there is a forgotten great WW Ted Kid Lewis with 282 fights...Who is to say that Lewis, most likely Britain's greatest fighter [excluding Fitz],
would not have beaten any welterweight from the USA...? Nat Fleisher had
Ted Kid Lewis ahead of Robinson, just behind Walcott, Ryan and Britton !
Today the Kid is a forgotten fighter...To shame !

    Brittons record is incredible.

I will toss Barney Ross's hat in the ring though. Even though a novice compared to the likes of Britton and Lewis he was never stopped in 80 odd fights and only suffered a single flash kd against the great Jimmy McClarnin even though he met an assortment of some of the rings best ever fighters (McCarnin again, Armstrong, Canzoneri, Petrolle).

No love for Oskee? Leonard? The Golden boys were all cheen when it came down to it as well.

Oscar apparently took a bajillion Manny Pac lefts before saying **** that and went right for his IV station to get some water

But really it's Gavilan by a country mile. Only welter that should sniff that top 10 beards of all time really.............ok and Robinson as well.

    Erm, no.

You could take Chuvalo out though. :rofl :yep

Maybe if Robinson just stood along the ropes defenseless on his way to early stoppage losses, he might of been able to claim to never being knocked down. Absolute fact in Gavilan's case. Instead, he got up, took more and won those fights (one unofficially). :deal

No KO losses >>> Not hitting the deck.

Because some heavier dude hits harder than me in the gym on the heavy bag doesn't mean I wouldn't whup his ass in the ring like 99% of Robinson's opponents had to deal with.

Faster, offensive variety, defense, techniques (Turbotime, Robinson)> right hand, shell defense (graziano, homie in the club) :rofl

    :hi:
