Showtime aired the Taylor vs. Munoz bout on tape delay, as edited highlights. :blood

Apparently it happened an hour before the broadcast even started, at about 9pm EST.

WTF? How is it not the main event of the card/show?

How is JERMAIN TAYLOR getting minimal screen time (and not even live) while they showcase nobodies like Cepeda, Russ, Farmer and Pedraza?? What is the world coming to?

There is still another 90 minutes to go, assuming it's a normal 2-hour ShoBox slot. What is this madness? A scheduled eight rounder (ending in KO1), then highlights of Jermain Taylor's victory earlier on the night, then another live scheduled eight rounder and after this...what, show's over?? :huh

    What is with these nicknames?

    Lamar "The Boxing Q" Russ?

    Tevin "The American Idol" Farmer?

    :-(

Jose "The Sniper" Pedraza isn't too bad.

    Round 1

Southpaw 1-2 from Farmer. Pedraza tries a shoulder roll and gets caught with a few jabs careening up his arm and into his chin. Farmer is walking into Pedraza and whipping left hands around the side while jabbing with his right. Quick counter rights by Pedraza, but not taking aim well. A lot of flopping and bobbing above the waist by Pedraza. Farmer steps back to long range and puts a few jabs into Pedraza's face. Right hook/left hand combos and 1-2s by Farmer while drawing Pedraza around the ring. Pedraza loops a left while stepping in and gets tied up. Double hooking left to the face by Farmer, ducking before Pedraza can counter. Quick but poorly aimed rights by Pedraza while ambling in with a rickety off-balance gait, still flopping his upper body around.

    10-9 Farmer

    Farmer is already punched out.
(Pedraza rocking a remixed Abe Lincoln beard)

    Round 2

Pedraza has a better round, walking forward and eating shots from Farmer but laying his hands on him more frequently and imposing himself physically to keep Farmer's back bouncing off the ropes.

    10-9 Pedraza

    19-19

This reminds me of the time Skippy "Skippy" Plumber fought Andrew "Huh" Davies. I can't really remember what happened.

    Round 3

Pedraza is bulling his way in, backing Farmer up to the ropes and taking the quick counter flurries that graze his beard and neck. Pedraza has Farmer stunned by a few heavy slaps around the side. Farmer is bouncing off the ropes and lurching into Pedraza, holding on to whichever is closer. Pedraza is a horrible finisher. Wildly missing uppercuts, landing with nothing but incidental body shots. Farmer should be outta there.

    10-9 Pedraza

    29-28 Pedraza

    Round 4

Pedraza has turned southpaw himself and is bossing Farmer around the ring with his right jab and walking him down with frequent body-checks on the smaller man, mauling and spinning him out of clinches up close. Farmer is sliding his feet back and popping up high right jabs and just barely evading the majority of Pedraza's hectic swings.

    10-9 Pedraza

    39-37 Pedraza

    Round 5

Pedraza is throwing himself at Farmer, shouldering into him and firing sloppy uppercuts. Farmer is down a few times, slips. No legs. Pedraza chases and swipes with jabs and wide hooking lefts. Farmer drifts to the ropes and Pedraza fires uppers to the body while pressing into him. Slaps to the back by Pedraza. Farmer leans forward with his gloves pinned tightly, absorbing shots to head and body and getting rocked around. Farmer is able to clinch and buy time. Pedraza again fails to finish.

    10-9 Pedraza

    49-46 Pedraza
