Thought an active winning figher would rank over a fighter on a lay off. Foresight also being a factor.

Nishioka still clearly had the best resume in the division, and the only way these rankings make sense is on the basis of accomplishment, not potential.

Yeah; the number of people shouting for that switch before the fight was zero. Inevitable come the loss though.

Why not wat a day later till they fought before making the ranking? Does it change now?

McGrain, can you let us know the credentials of each of the board members? I see it says on the site that

"Board membership includes twenty-five respected boxing journalists and record keepers from around the world who are uncompromised by so-called sanctioning bodies and promoters".

Who do they write for, etc? It would add to the transparency.

Nah, sorry man there are 25 guys i'm not going to type 25 bios.

But plans are afoot to bio up all members via the website. In the meantime, if you feel it's urgent, i'd imagine most of them would show up on google if you put "boxing" after each name.

I think you should a sort of bio contest, in say.....the lounge. Put the name out there and let the denizens of the lounge come up with an appropriate bio. Good plan?

The reason is because our rankings listed Nishioka at #1 and Donaire #2 and that had to be made public before the fight. The result of #1 vs. #2 in the event of an empty throne, fills the throne. We didn't want to come out later and say "guess what! Donaire has been crowned!" -it's better to publicly demonstrate that it would be for the crown before the bout.

    Good question, though!
